Story
👻 CASPER 👻 Chihuahua, 10-12 years young, 9 lbs. Casper has more personality per square inch of his senior body than any senior dog we’ve met! He has likely never met a person or food he didn’t like. Casper likes snuggles on blankets, or heating pads, or to lay close by his people. He is HIGHLY food motivated, which will be helpful in teaching this old dog some new tricks. 😉 Casper was on the streets for a long time, and is ready for an easy, retired family life. Life on the streets left him with a healed leg deformity that doesn’t slow him down one bit. He’s healthy and active, living life with joy. Potty training will take some time, as our guy will need to learn about appropriate “inside” etiquette and how to give a sign when it’s time to go outside. He deserves a little extra patience, time, and a consistent schedule/guidance (with treats!) for potty training. We have no doubt he will learn in the right environment. If you love and appreciate happy senior dogs, give Casper a second look. He is bright, wiggly, peppy, and a darn good pooch. Are you the right fit for him? Can you help him learn the ropes? We sure hope you are! He’s pretty great! For more information and an opportunity to meet Casper, private message us. Include your phone number, a little info about yourself and family, other household pets, and tell us how he will fit into your world. **Fostered in Eugene/Springfield, Oregon •••••• Adoption fees help cover the costs of Transport, Distemper/Parvo Boosters, Rabies shot, Microchip, and Spay/Neuters, as well the dog comes with a collar, harness and leash. You will also receive a PetSmart puppy packet with 100.00's of dollars of savings, you get a FREE bag of food, 30 min private training session with a certified dog trainer as well as a free checkup at Bandfield. Adoption fee is $225.00. Please E-mail wigglytailsdogrescue@yahoo.com if you would like an application. Just because you request an application in no way guarantees you a dog as we receive several applications and will choose the best home for the dog. Must live within 30 Miles of Eugene!! Story
Meet Stanley, the heart-throb of the senior sanctuary. “Stan the Man” is an absolute fan favorite. His charm and personality can win over even the grumpiest grump. Honestly we don’t know how this stud hasn’t been scooped up already. Stanley has the ability to fill the room with laughter and many “awww”s. Despite his rotund figure he is the most athletic of our senior crew and is a champ when it comes to walks. His lil legs move quicker than you’d expect and we’ve likened him to a guinea pig on a leash, squeaks and wheezes included. He’s such a comedic lil fellow and is constantly making us giggle with his silly noises. Belly rubs are essential and will be rewarded with his signature tongue “blep.” When he’s not scurrying on walks, hanging with his dog friends or getting belly rubs, he likes to spend time staring deeply into our eyes. Did we mention he’s a great listener? Falling in love with this guy isn’t hard to do. Stanley definitely has star potential, but all he really needs is a #1 fan, could that be you? Over his time with Northwest Dog Project he has he has met many fellow pups and is always the first one to break the ice and welcome the newbie with a wagging tail. He’s our one-man welcome committee but we think it’s about time for him to have his very own family. We believe Stan is around 8yrs old and roughly 6lbs. He would do great in a family with other dogs and has even been great around cats! Stanley is an easy-going low maintenance dude and easily adapts to new environments. What more could you possibly want in a pint size pup.

Meet Ethel the one-eyed wonder. Stare into her milky eye and you might get a peek into your future. Though her sight is limited we believe she is able to see shadows, movement and maybe visions of past lives. The shelter she came from gave her the nickname “Velveteen Rabbit” because of her velvety smooth skin. When she came to the rescue we initially thought maybe she had hair loss from malnutrition and neglect, but it turns out, she’s just a unique lil lady with a lil less fur than your average chihuahua. Perhaps she’s part Chinese Crested or Mexican Hairless, but what we do know is she is 100% perfect. She loves going out on walks and despite her age is able to get around just fine on those lil deer legs. Ethel loves being the center of attention, snuggles are a top priority and she will tell you that herself. She has a wide vocabulary of sweet little chirps and squeaks. This gal is always down for chit chatting about all that hot gossip. Ethel does well with other small dogs that respect her personal space. Weighing roughly 5lbs and about 10 years young, dearest Ethel is amidst her golden years and is looking to find a home where she can have a comfy lap to sleep on and a companion to share all the love and happiness she has to offer.

Story
Meet Blanche, the matriarch of the small senior crew at Northwest Dog Project. Miss Blanche is a goofy granny chihuahua who marches to the beat of her own drum. She’s missing most of her teeth and a bit of her lower jaw, but that only accentuates her award winning grin. This bendy lil lass is not too fond of walks, instead she prefers practicing acrobatic yoga poses and jazzercise leg kicks accompanied by belly rubs. Blanche is content to spend her days snuggled up in blanket piles on the couch but is also entertained by exploratory walks around the yard showing off her handstands. She is additionally an excellent “purse-puppy” which means she’s more than happy to be toted around in a sling or front-pack. Being the first of our small senior community she is very used to living with other dogs of similar stature and has even spent time in the company of our former feline companion Linus. A home with other small dogs is acceptable as long as there is plenty of time to shower this lil lady in love and affection. As a senior dog around 10-12yrs old and weighing a whopping 5lbs Blanche is a sweet old soul stuffed with lots of love left to give.
