Story
I first adopted Milo and Lulu, whom he had bonded with, about a year and a half ago from the Humane Society. Milo came to the shelter from a home where we was abused and not treated well. Over the past year and a half Milo has become such a special part of my family. He is energetic but can also sleep for hours, he’s incredibly loving and will love to sit on your lap. Milo has a heart murmur and severe gun disease from his shelter days. He is not neutered. Milo will put a smile on your face everyday. He is such a good little boy and a great addition to any family!

Story
Lulu was first adopted a year and a half ago from the Humane Society. Lulu had come from a home where she was heavily abused. In January of 2018, Lulu gave birth to 6 puppies. Lulu was then spayed afterwards. Lulu is an energetic fun-loving dog who loves to be comfy in a blanket or on a big pillow. Lulu can have anxiety when new or unknown people enter her space, but she does warm up quickly. Lulu loves to play with tennis balls and loves to cuddle. Lulu is good with children but does not handle it well when her ears or tail is pulled by a child. She has never bitten anyone, but would do best in a home without children. Lulu would add so much love to your home! Her and Milo are a bonded pair and have so much love to give!

Story
**Update!! (10/14/19) Adorable chi girl, Trixi, is doing great in her foster home. She does great with all the other foster dogs that she lives with. Trixi would benefit by being in a more quiet foster or adoptive home. She is on meds for a heart murmur, so we would like her to stay in the Central PA area in case she needs to see a cardiologist at some point. WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET HER? EMAIL AngelsAmongUsRS@live.com. (5/18/19) Trixi is a 13 year old Chihuahua who was surrendered when her family became homeless. It must be so scary and confusing for Trixi to be in a shelter. When the shelter vet examined her and evaluated the Trixi medically, she said that Trixi is healthy for a senior. Her lungs and heart sounded good. When she was examined by our rescue vet, Trixi was put on meds for a heart murmur. TRIXI WILL NEED A FOSTER HOME OR ADOPTER IN THE LEB/LANC/HBG AREA. PLEASE EMAIL AngelsAmongUsRS@live.com IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MEET HER!

Story
(8/18/19) Meet Tessa, an awesome little girl who would love a home of her very own. She is a chi that is about 10 years old and weighs 12 lbs. She was found running the streets, and a nice family picked her up and called an out of state rescue that we work with. When found, Tessa was so sick and so very tired. The vet and their staff were amazed that she survived out in the heat and traffic as she has limited sight and hearing. Tessa had surgery for bladder stones, and a hernia. She was spayed and received her vaccinations. Tessa is HW negative. Life was hard on the street finding food as someone in her past had pulled all her front teeth. She is a follower and very curious. She gets along well with other dogs after the initial introduction. Tessa is leash trained and loves to go for walks.....and she loves to take naps. Tessa has had a really rough life, and she deserves to know love and companionship of her own family. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP TESSA AND LIVE IN CENTRAL PA, PLEASE EMAIL AngelsAmongUsRS@live.com.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Lynn & Cedric (lynnwelcomesyouhome@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. All of our dogs and cats are in foster homes and we have no paid staff.  If you have questions concerning a specific animal,  PLEASE fill out an application and the foster parent will be in touch.  We will not arrange any home visits with any of our dogs and cats until your application is processed.  Please understand our foster parents are precious to our 2nd Chance family; without them we cannot function, so we do our best to not burden them with multiple appointments.  Our foster parents will choose their top 3 applications and arrange home visits with these applicants.  The adopter will be chosen at that time.  The process can take anywhere from a week to a month.  We want to make sure our little furry ones are placed in their "forever home" and never have to go through a rehoming again!   Hello my name is Logan I know weird name for a girl right?  Well I'm no prissy female anyway so thats OK.  I get along with all the other foster dogs in my home and I like attention oh and I really like food so my foster mommy says I cant go to anyone who insists on giving treats cause I would get REALLY fat and then she says we don't live as long and have health problems and I don't want that!I came from ACCT Philly.  That is a really scary place and my people handed me and Lindsey over and walked away.  The guy went to put me in this high cage and dropped me.  I fell 4 feet on to the cement floor on my head and had a seziure!  It was awful!!!  When that happened they took me somewhere else and I didn't see Lindsey again.  I was soooo scared I just cuddled in a corner with my face in the corner of the cage and tried to shut out the world.   The shelter decided it was time to put me to sleep!!  Thank God they put out an email that they were going to euth me and 2nd Chance drove to Philadelphia.  When they got there their director said 'where is Logan' the shelter said on the adoption floor.  The Director said get her.  The shelter worker said I don't know if I can we have her up for adoption.  The Director said you either give me both or I take neither (she told me later she was bluffing and would NEVER have left me behind but she knew the shelter would not want to make that decision :)   Soooo they went and got Lindsey and I was soooo happy when I saw a familiar face!!  These days we are not as close as we have made other friends in the house so our foster mom says we do not need to go together.  I am not a cat dog.  I like to chase them way to much!!  The cat in my house now HATES me.  I don't know why, she runs, I chase :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to  families with children under the age of 5.  We do not adopt dogs to renters.  Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment.  The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners.  We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.  Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

She was rescued shaking and cowering in the corner of her cage in the big scary shelter. She is proving to be a wonderful companion in her foster home and wiggles her whole rear end when spoken to and rolls over for belly rubs. She is medium to low energy, preferring to just sit with the humans and be petted or follow you around on your chores. She is also up for a game of fetch now and then and loves to chew on nyla bones. Sugar tends to try to be queen of the castle and would do best as an only dog or with a larger dog (25lbs and over) who would not put up with her bossiness. She will play with other freindly dogs. She is spayed and microchipped and has had all her vaccinations. Fill out an application now if you think Sugar would be a good fit in your home. She is a wonderful little lady and deserves a great forever home!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
