Bellota (Bae is what we call her) is a senior dog, we estimate somewhere around 12 years old. She is tiny weighing only 3.5lbs. She is a special needs dog that will need a special adopter. Bellota has a mammary tumor that we recently discovered has metastasized and is now in her lungs. Our vet has given her 6-8 months. She needs a loving home to spend the rest of her days. Bellota loves to be held and snuggle under the blanket. She is not a fan of other dogs and she will bark and growl at them. Her teeth are pretty bad but she eats a mixture of soft and hard food. She has a pretty good appetite. She will go potty if you take her outside, however she hates being outside long. She is partially blind due to cataracts however she can see movement/shadows.

My foster mom says she named me that because my big brown eyes, black saddle, and white stockings reminded her of Audrey Hepburn in a little black dress with long white gloves. I don’t know about that, but I sure am glad to have a place to stay. I don’t remember much about my life before she found me. There was probably a very loud and angry man because I’m wary of men, and yelling or loud noises really upsets me. The noise stuff could also be because I was found running through an East Dallas neighborhood on July 4, terrified by the nearby fireworks display. That sure was scary! I’m much calmer now. If a man is soft-spoken, patient, and calm around me, he can slowly win me over. I’ve learned to take care of my business outside, to back away from the fence gate when my mom opens it, and “go to your crate.” I’m so good at that last one, when I see my foster mom pick up her keys to leave, I just go lay down in my crate without even being asked. How’s that for a good dog?! I love to go on walks and am working on my manners with other dogs. My most favorite thing of all is curling up next to my foster mom. She says I’m a world-class cuddler. Milo's previous owners decided to leave him behind when they moved. He's very nervous and unsure, and we felt that it could be because he'd not been treated well. Milo's a tough cookie and reacted to a bad situation. Fast forward a year, Milo's been in foster care getting socialized and the training he needed to grow. Milo's worked hard to learn that there's nothing to fear and that he doesn't have to be in charge anymore . Milo's still a little nervous with new people, but with a little patience he warms up. Milo LOVES men, but loves his foster mom, too. Milo enjoys short walks and has excellent leash skills. He works regularly with a trainer to perfect his skills and would like a family keeping a regular schedule and being firm with him. Milo's a typical toy breed that if you give him an inch, he will take a mile. Milo likes dogs but prefers male or small dogs. He has 3 foster fur siblings. He's crate trained and very housebroken. Also, he does very well for his baths. Milo's favorite thing is to curl up on the couch and be covered by a blanket.
