Story
Hi! My name is Pepper! I am 3 years old and weigh 12 lbs. I absolutely love attention and love to snuggle in a lap! I will stay in a lap all day long if allowed. I'll follow my foster from room to room and settle down in that room until time to move on. My foster is in a power wheelchair and I know to stay out of the way. I can jump up in her lap easily. I enjoy being outside but prefer some company when I'm outside. I will come to the door when I want to go outside and when I want to come back inside. I am pretty good about staying in the yard and I come when I'm called. I love to go car for car ride, and if the car door is open, I will jump right in. I only bark when I hear something, and do not bark for just no reason at all. I'm a wonderful companion! I get along well with most dogs and enjoy playing with them, but would do best isn't only pet. I have not been cat tested. I'm ready and waiting for my new home!

Story
Dainty but playful, friendly but cautious, and so very cuddly...little Ms. Raven is a precious 9.5 lbs. Deerhead  Chihuahua  that is about 8 years young.  Ms Raven enjoys nice naps, especially under a blanket or next to a quiet person. She is great with other dogs, cats and has even shared a nap and lap with the resident cat. Raven prefers to come to people rather than be approached by a human and picked up. She is timid if someone reaches for her, but a quick bit of encouragement and she hops right up for snuggles and kisses! It is preferred that Raven go to a home without full-time young children. She is sweet and gentle as can be but can be timid when things are more active and it is believed she would be happiest in a quieter home. Her foster mom just loves this little stinker! She is terrible about finishing her potty business outside but otherwise she is a dream and  she will be missed by her foster mom.   Ms Raven has lots of love and lots of years ahead of her to give someone.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

Story
Meet Julio!!  He is a great little 5 year old chihuahua who was a little over weight when he came into the rescue.  After several weeks on a great diet combined with lots of exercise Julio has slimmed down and is now ready to find his forever home.  Julio does need to continue his current exercise regime so he does need active parents who will make sure he gets daily walks.  He is great on a leash so that is no problem.  Julio also needs to count his calories and no people food.  That way Julio will be able to maintain his weight and be a healthy, happy boy.  Julio loves people and would like to be right with you.  He loves to play and would be great as an only dog.  That way he gets all the attention and Julio is all about that.  He would do best in an all adult home and is a bit too active for seniors.  Julio have been neutered and is current on all his shots and microchipped.  To be considered for his forever family please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net or 615-94307311,  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Julio is currently in Tennessee but can be transported to the northeast upon adoption.  Due to state regulations we are unable to adopt to residents of MA and RI.)

Story
REGGIE(n/m, Chihuahua/FeistX-dob: 12/1/2017..weighs a healthy 13lbs) was rescued from the mean streets of Rutherford Co, NC...his testosterone had him running amok for about a year(that we know of). However, we are sure that he had been someone's inside pet until one day they let him out of the yard & from that time on, life for Reggie had been from in-season girl to the next, or so it appears. But, no more! Reggie has settled down considerably since being neutered. He's a little    snuggle-bum and LOVES to chase squirrels and be social with all passers-by(therefore, a secured fenced-in backyard is required). VERY friendly with humans.  He's great on-leash, gets along well with other dogs(tho, he's not particularly fond of big males and will growl at them), housebroken and crate-trained for nights. He's 100% healthy(comes with health certificate) and current on all vax and flea/tick and heart worm prevention. Would make the PERFECT companion for an active early retiree or work-from-home person(LOVES to go on walks around the neighborhood with his person). His only physical flaw is that he has bowed rear legs....may have had rickets as a young pup or just a birth defect. Either way, it certainly doesn't slow him down at all. He's all boy and ready to make his fur-ever person feel loved and appreciated. Adoption fee: $195(includes neuter, micro-chip, utd on Bordatella, Parvo/Distemper/Lepto, Rabies vaccines, parasite-free, current on heart worm and flea/tick prevention, Rabies and Health certificate, all medical paperwork from day #1 at Howlin4Spirit including vet's surgical notes, Martingale collar and matching 6' leash, 3lbs bag of current dry food(Tractor Supply Store's '4health'-salmon and potato, beef knee cap bone,  2 'pet alert' wallet cards, 'RESCUED DOGS ROCK' car magnet, chew toy, T ball and 'SUPER PUPPY' training booklet).  This pup is in and will remain in Rutherfordton, NC until it's new home can be approved. Transport fees are as follows: $125  to VA, MD, DE, NJ(as far N as Vince Lombardi svc plaza/NJTnpk, mm115).  $140 to Rye/Albany/Rochester/SyracuseNY, JohnstonRI, ManchesterNH & BurlingtonVT.   A completed application, 3 personal references and  your vet's reference is required for approval. To apply to adopt one of these pups please send us your completed application which is provided at: www.howlin4spirit.org/adoption-application/  to howlin4spirit@gmail.com ...PLEASE, BE SURE TO PROVIDE EMAIL ADDRESSES for all of your unrelated personal references,  so that we can properly process your application. MUST be EMAIL ADDRESSES, NOT tele#s.  Updated pix and videos are available upon request.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Jenny Cope (giveadogahome@live.com) for more information about this pet. Animal Welfare organizations have been deemed as essential business, and so we are able to continue our operation.  However, we are taking the threat of COVID-19 very seriously and are following the government guidelines and implemting our own precautions.  Meet & Greets will continue to be on an appointment basis only. They will take place either in the outside enclosed area, or the large room at the end of he kennels. There is a no contact, other than with the dog in place and children will not be allowed out of their vehicles. MARLEY-Boy was saved  from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine  MARLEY-Boy is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, heart-worm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 23 November 2016 and at the time of rescue in December 2019 weighed around 23 pounds. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. MARLEY-Boy arrived at the rescue on Thursday, 19th December and has been doing great. He is such a happy, social boy who loves to talk and tell you how he is feeling. He is ok with other dogs, but gets a little over-whelmed with being around a lot of dogs. He adores all humans and will come running up, eager to tell everyone what he is thinking. He does love to talk. MARLEY uses the dog door to go out and do his business and play, but he is most likely not going to let you know he wants to go outside. Marley is a really sweet, loving, gentle boy with a great happy-go-lucky personality. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW HE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK. MARLEY-Boy is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements. Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org/forms/form?formid=5838 ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations  and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. Story
Little Peanut found herself in need of a new home when her elderly guardian became ill and could no longer care for her. One of our foster moms was glad to step in and help her out. Peanut is a sweetheart! She's a little shy at first, but it doesn't take her long to warm up. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. Although we know that she would love to have a person all her own! We estimate that Peanut as approximately 3-4 years old. She is in good health with the exception of a few extra pounds. But with regular meals and exercise, she has already lost some weight! Right now, she is being fostered in Tennessee. The rescue lists in areas where transport is available. They use safe USDA licensed dog transports that will bring her to their new family, once they are adopted! Once you send an application, the rescue will contact you for an interview and be able to send more photos and even videos She is spayed and UTD on all required vaccinations. She is microchipped and on flea preventative. Please, you MUST click the following link BEFORE emailing for further information.
