Story
Beatrice is a cute and quirky dog with personality to spare! This senior chihuahua mix is a “little old lady” right down to her no-nonsense attitude and homebody ways. Her vision and hearing have faded some with age but she doesn’t miss much, especially when food is involved! Beatrice comes off shy at first and prefers to meet new people slowly. Once she has time and space to check you out, she is sweet, affectionate, and silly! Beatrice keeps her foster family laughing with her antics and likes to stay close to her favorite people during everyday activities like laundry and cooking. Beatrice enjoys sunbathing, going for walks, and occasional “zoomies” around the house. She likes her chin rubbed and never turns down a tasty snack. Beatrice would do best in a quieter home and would be an excellent match for almost any adult home. She could be comfortable with gentle, older children though she does startle at loud noises and quick movements. Beatrice would do wonderfully as a solo dog and could live with another mellow dog who would give her space.

Story
Coca has only been with the rescue for a short time, so her foster family is still getting to know her. So far, she's been very sweet but a little unsure about things. Once she gets comfortable, she's very playful and impish. She likes snuggling, but prefers to snuggle by her person's head vs their lap, so it's good thing she's only 12 lbs. She does ok in her crate when foster mom leaves and overnight, but can be vocal the first few minutes and when she knows it's time to be let out. She's working super hard at potty training and responds well to praise and treats. Most of the time she's low energy with periods of higher energy, which is consistent with her age. If you're looking for a sweet, goofy little dog that will always have a puppy face, Coca might be your gal!You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about Coca on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet her today!!Adoption fee: Check back soon! All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an application. Story
Meet sweet little Harbor, momma of the litter sponsored by Boone and Crockett. She's a lean, mean, kissing machine! Although it take a little for her to warm up, once she does she is very affectionate and snuggles into foster mom and gives kisses whenever she's picked up. She's a very good girl that's working hard on potty training and is quiet and well behaved in her crate when foster mom is gone and overnight. In true chihuahua fashion, she like to let foster mom know when there's something too close to her territory outside but has been mostly quiet when inside. Although Harbor is dog friendly and lives with other dogs, she hasn't shown much interest in playing yet and would do well as an only dog. Please check back for updates as my foster family gets to know me. You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about me on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet me today!!Adoption fee: $500All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. About this Dog: Name: Harley and Wonda Breed: Chihuahuas Approximate Age:   6 and 3 years Gender:  Male and Female Weight:  3 1/2 and 4 lb Adoption Fee:  $400 for both Why in Rescue:  transfer from humane society General Profile:  Please fill out the adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog if you are interested in meeting one of our dogs.  Harley and Wonda came to Bichon & Little Buddies from another humane society where they had been brought in by their owner.  Harley is about 6 years old and we believe Wonda is his daughter and is about 3 years.  They have been spayed/neutered and had their teeth cleaned (and some extracted).  They are very shy and fearful of new people.  They are very small dogs, so looking for a home without large dogs and no young children.  They will need a family that is willing to give them the time they need to adjust, trust, and bond.  Undersocialized little ones can take quite some time to adjust - it isn't a matter of days, it can be weeks or more before their true personality begins to appear.  When scared they retreat and hide until they are comfortable again.  Maybe you are the one that will be the perfect fit for this little couple.  These two cuties have started to trust their caretakers and will climb on their laps to get some attention but still prefer not to be picked up.  They use potty pads at the shelter. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  If you are interested in any of our dogs, please fill out the pre-adoption application and we will set up a time for you to come and meet them. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://www.nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html   Adoption Procedures: 1.  Completely fill out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog.  We will be checking with your vet if you have had pets, calling your landlord (if any) and checking a personal reference, before we contact you about visiting the adoptables.  Any missing information may have us moving onto another application. 2.  If you application is approved, we will contact you to come meet the adoptables that you are interested in.   3.  If it is a match, you will complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.  Please be prepared to take your adopted pet home when you come meet him/her.  In most cases, you will be able to take the pet home the same day.  If all the vetting hasn't been done yet, we will hold the pet for you until the vet work is completed.  4.  If you have filled out an application and we haven't contacted you within a week, we may have missed your application, the pet may have been adopted by another applicant, or you may have been missing information on your application.  You may contact us to find out the status of your application at this time.  Please give us a week to process your application before contacting us!   The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $475 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested and started on preventative, microchipped, and dewormed.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you will also receive an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training for $50 (up to $200 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, Small Dogs Big Hearts, or Shy & Reactive Dog Class.  You must start the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc All dogs are seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Many are in various foster homes getting extra one on one attention getting them ready for their new homes.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application.  Bichon and Little Buddies is run by volunteers who have full time jobs in addition to the hours they spend with the rescue dogs.  Having an application on file assures us that the potential adopter is really interested in adopting a dog.  It also assists us in placing dogs in homes where both the dog and new owners are happy.  The application puts you under no obligation to adopt a dog from Bichon and Little Buddies. The Dog Pre-Adoption Application can be found at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog Thanks for thinking about adopting your new pet!More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $50 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***Other than during open hours, we do not show dogs/cats without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS
