I was pulled from a shelter in CA in pretty bad shape and with good food, love and a knee surgery I'm doing well now. I'm living the life in an amazing foster home in AZ. Even tho I'm young (3) the doc said I had a grade 3 luxating patella in my left back leg and a grade 4 in my right back leg, so he fixed the grade 3 giving me a good stable leg long term. The grade 4 wasn't able to be fixed; I still use it about half the time and doesn't seem to bother me much. Someday I may have to have it amputated but maybe I won't, the docs say as long as it isn't causing me pain, leave it alone. Fine by me! My hair is still growing back since surgery, mom says I look like a lion! I don't take long walks on the beach, but I'm very easy to carry at 7 lbs. I fit in a big purse fine for shopping and either sleep or people watch. I love to ride in the car, I'm a bit scared of big stores (I shake) but quickly find it's safe and settle down. I've been told I wasn't socialized much in my past and need to work on it. As long as it's with my human I'm fine with socializing but just with her! I am a one woman man! No doubt about it, I love and adore my human and want to be with you or on your lap as much as possible. I will never stray or look at another woman unless I have no choice. I may have been scared by a man as I've been in my foster home for a few months and I will let the man feed me and give me treats but that's all; maybe in time I will learn to trust him. In the meantime, I have 4 girl dogs that live here and we all get along fine. Since I am a man, I do like to mark, so foster mom says I have to wear a belly band and it doesn't bother me at all. She takes it off when we go outside to do my business and hang out in the yard and I don't need to wear it at night, I'm a good sleeper. When I sleep on my back I've been told I snore like a 300 lb man, lol, but that's only occasionally. I do love to lay in your arms like a baby and stare up at you (or sleep). I'm a pretty easy going guy and I'd sure love a furever home and to be your valentine!! From foster mom: Sid is a doll, literally, a tiny boy doll. He's has nothing but love for his human and I'm hopeful in time he will also be comfortable around men. Erin pulled him from the shelter, I've had him for a couple of month and he was a love for both of us. He recently had a female dog sitter for a week, it took him one day to warm up and he was right up on her lap, so he is very easy to get to know (if you are a woman). He's not a dog that will run up to any one but once you earn his trust, you are gold. He is NOT good with kids of any age, they move too fast for him and tries to nip so he must be in a home without children. My grandkids come over (they are extremely rescue savy) and I have to keep an eye on him JIC. Needs a fenced yard if let out, he's small enough he can get thru a fence with openings and will do so to be near his human. His perfect home would be with a woman who is retired or works from home with other pets. When left alone he gets anxious and the other dogs help. A couple would be find as long as the male is willing to give him as much time and space as he needs to learn to trust. Large playful dogs might be a problem due to his small size and leg issues. Approved adoptees are responsible for transportation, you will need to come pick up the dog you are approved to adopt. The foster home will discuss transport with you once you are approved to adopt.
