Story
How could you ask for more? Turner is an easy-going chihuahua who loves other dogs & loves people. He's affectionate, cuddly and has a good sense of humor. This little 9-lb chihuahua has a black/brown lush coat and curly tail. We think he is about 4-5 years old. He was found trotting the streets in a neighborhood of E. WA when it was below freezing. We tried to find his family but no one ever claimed him. The rescuer ended up fostering him for 6 weeks while he recovered from the trauma of being homeless and in the freezing cold. In those 6 weeks, wow, what a turnaround! In a safe and loving foster home, he was able to blossom! After those initial 6 weeks, Turner was transferred to a foster home in Seattle. The minute he arrived, he was cruising around confidently; it only took minutes for him to engage another small dog in play. Turner is a really easy dog. He loves being outdoors and exploring but also loves cuddle time next to you or in your lap. He adores sleeping under the covers of his foster mom’s bed. He loves going for walks and rides well in the car. He will bark if he's in the yard and sees a squirrel running along the top of the fence. He sometimes barks when he's really excited and happy about something. This sweet boy is good about being left home alone but prefers that there is usually someone in the home a majority of the time. This little guy deserves love and attention and we want to make sure he gets the most possible! He is reliably house trained. In a home with children, he’d do well with older kids who can appreciate that he needs considerate care and thoughtful interactions. If you’re looking for a small dog that is easy-going and has no behavior challenges, Turner is the boy for you! Story
Check out my Red Waggin' Rescue's YouTube Playlist for my videos! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLM_uIo6J1bC5u8Rlrr96YsDKBUUObXNAP Maria is such a sweetheart! She’s still getting used to interacting with humans so she can be tentative with people in the beginning. But if you let her set the pace, she’ll warm up to you when she trusts that you won’t do anything to scare or worry her. That said, she does like being around people—just not being held or petted right off the bat. Maria is all about feeling safe. Right now, her crate and her bed are her comfort spots. She does spend much of her time in bed, watching things happen around her and absorbing all the new experiences—and there’s so many of them. It’s no wonder she feels overwhelmed at times. She’s quiet girl only barking sometimes when she’s alerting to an unknown noise but just a couple barks and with some reassurance from you, quiets down again. She can startle easily if people move too fast around her or if an outside noise scares her. Again, some reassurance will help her get used to these things. As she’s acclimating to being touched, you would probably do best starting her off on a potty-pad indoors in a quiet spot so she can go potty herself. She’s worried about following you outside and going out on her own. That should change as she gains more confidence and understanding of the world around her. Maria would do best in a quieter home with no children or other dogs. She has been fine with her foster family's cat. She’s definitely enjoying the perks of living in a home that cares for her and keeps her protected from things that worry her. Their patience and kindness are paying off. As time goes by, she is getting more comfortable. Please complete an application at: https://forms.gle/bSkgpdm6ZX7yH5Ef9 Questions? Contact us at connellpetrescue@gmail.com Thank you!

Story
We adopted Jax at 5 months old from a shelter almost 11 years ago. He is a very active and loving boy who needs lots of blankets to burrow under. He is very attached to Nibbler and we feel that separating them would be too hard on them, so we hope that they can remain together. They both need a loving home where they can run and play.
