Story
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the shelter is closed to the general public at this time, but the staff is still working and the dogs and cats are being cared for.  If you are interested in adopting an animal, please call to arrange an appointment. Phone:  770-214-3590.    Say Hello to Mr. Cody - a handsome Chow-mix male who is about 7 years old. He is loveable and still full of life, and especially enjoys chasing bouncy balls. Cody has a cute way of taking the leash in his mouth and then let you walk him. He is primarily red in color with a black saddle.  Cody doesn't have the usual dense coat or the erect ears of the Chow breed, so is definitely a mixed breed. He is a large dog, weighing about 80 lbs.   The adoption fee covers the spay/neuter surgery, a 1-year rabies shot, a da2ppv shot (canine distemper/parvo vaccine), heartworm test, deworming and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA.  The hours of operation are:  Monday through Friday 8:00 till 5:00;  Saturday 8:00 till 4:00. Phone:  770-214-3590

He was a drop off our house we currently have five other dogs. He's a big puppy at heart very loving and he always wants to play. He loves to go on walks he also loves to play tug-of-war and love to chase around a ball.he also howls at sirens basically he be a great safety for you. The biggest reason we're adopting him out is because animal control wants to want to limit the dogs we have the at the house.

Story
Leo is about 2 years old and is a medium sized Chow mix. He has spent the better part of his life in a shelter and when he came to us he was heartworm positive. For the past several months we have been working with Leo and helping him to see life can be fun. Now he can walk on a leash, play with other dogs and has opened up to humans to show us how sweet he really is! Story
Goldie is a 3 year old Chow/Boxer mix, only 40 lbs. She's housebroken, very loving and doesn't meet a stranger - this girl loves everyone! Her owner had to move and couldn't take Goldie with her. Goldie is a friend to all and is great with kids too. She loves to play, loves tennis balls and has a lot of personality. She would LOVE to have a fenced yard to run and play in. She likes leash walks too. Goldie is current on shots and also spayed. Goldie's just waiting for the right home now, is that you? She desperately needs a foster home as well.

Story
Meet Laverne or Elvee for short. She is a young adult shepherd mix who is house broken, crate trained, and walks wonderfully on a leash. She is a super calm and quiet dog that loves to play with dogs in her foster home of all sizes. She is also good with cats, horses and chickens. Elvee adores walks and going new places, but seems to like a quiet home best. She has a new found love of car rides and exploring. Need a hiking buddy? Elvee is it! She would probably even enjoy jogging. Elvee's perfect home will have another dog to play with and people who will take her exploring... Even if it's just a good walk around the neighborhood. She is shy and skittish, but that is her only flaw. Elvee will bond fiercely with her person and be a devoted and loving. All it takes is time and patience.  Elvee is a rehabilitated feral dog. This means that she was not handled by humans until she was much older. People can still be scary at times, but Elvee improves every day. She needs an adoptor that will just be slow and patient. She will get there eventually! It is worth the wait. Street Paws is committed to provide all the help and support our new feral adopted family needs to begin their lives together. Ferals make amazing pets with just a little time. They are normally very laid back and easy dogs once you gain their trust.  Elvee is no exception. Contact us if you are interested in becoming a member of our growing Street Paws pack! No out of state adoptions. To apply to adopt this pet please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at http://streetpaws.org/adoption-application/ . This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Our adoption fee is $250 for Laverne. They have been given age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, dewormed, received flea prevention, heartworm tested and treated if necessary, and microchipped.

Story
Have you ever wanted a pet that loves you and your family and no one else? That will adore you and their pack, but outsiders are viewed with caution? Well meet Shirley. Shirley is about an 8 month (as of May 2018) old feral puppy in the beginning stages of rehab. Shirley was trapped with her siblings by animal control. They are all beginning to trust and seek human company.  Shirley is excellent with other dogs and seems to be just fine with cats. They will bond fiercely with their family and be a devoted and loving member of the family. All it takes is time and patience.  Shirley is available for foster to adopt. This will allow Street Paws to provide all the help and support their new family needs to begin their lives together. Ferals make amazing pets with just a little time. They are normally very laid back and easy dogs once you gain their trust.  A home with at least one other dog and a fenced in yard is a must. Contact us if you are interested in becoming a member of our growing Street Paws pack! https://youtu.be/E8A4Ed-xgUg No out of state adoptions.  To apply to adopt this pet please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at http://streetpaws.org/adoption-application/.
