You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!   Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <underdogrescue@petml.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Due to concern around COVID-19, Underdog Rescue is suspending all public adoption events and community events. We are still accepting applications for available dogs but are delaying in-person meet and greets due to the ‘stay at home’ policy. Thank you for your support.  DOB: 11/08/2012 Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Requires a fenced yard: Yes Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hello, my name is Amelia and I am an adorable adult female 31 lb Cocker Spaniel who is a little shy at first, but once I feel safe and comfortable, I become an incredible love bug…I loves me some cuddles!! I also love to play and hide my stuffed toys and balls in my “house” then I will move them all around the rest of the house. I’m a bit of a foodie, if you will, as I like to eat almost anything, though I don’t have many teeth. I am currently being treated for some eye and ear issues. I have cataracts in one eye and a smaller one forming in the other eye. I do not require surgery, however,  I will just need a drop in that eye once a day for the rest of my life.   I can still see light and dark and shapes. I  see great out of my other eye.  I also have an ear infection. I don’t like that leash thing and this cold weather is for the birds! My foster mom puts a coat on me and I don’t like that either, but I love to explore outside. I have to sniff around and get the news of the day and eat snow, so I suppose I will need to succumb to the coat…by the way, my eating of the snow is just my way of making it disappear faster! My foster mom took me to the beauty parlor for my first time ever and I look absolutely beautiful and my stunning black coat is amazingly soft and shiny, as a matter of fact. I’m so stunning that I can’t help looking at myself in the mirror! I enjoy being the social  director at meet and greets. I circle constantly and greet each dog and human. I have not had much experience with those smaller humans or kitties and I’m working very hard at potty training; being on a good schedule will really help my progress.  I even know some commands such as "come", “go potty” and a command for 'outside'.  My foster mom will put me in this thing she calls a crate.  If I’m in there either with or near the resident doggie I’m fine, but if I’m in there alone, I will voice my displeasure and scratch at the crate. As for that leash thing, my body freezes whenever my foster mom puts it on me, but we’re working on it together as a team so I’m sure I will get it soon. My foster mom says that I’m “the sweetest,”  “incredibly loving and cuddly” and that “I just want to please”.  These are all very true, so now all I need is to find a patient person who will be my new family and love me unconditionally…I promise I will love you unconditionally too!   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Story
Come and meet me at our adoption event at Spikes and Houles in Stillwater on 12/14 from 12 to 2:00 pm! Age: 11 months Weight: 27 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Unknown Potty trained: No-Workin on it though! Crate trained: Yes Sweet and Shy Tavis is Looking for His Forever Home! Tavis is a gentle, affectionate boy who loves his people, other dogs, and even cats! He’s still learning leash manners—he doesn’t resist, but he’s still figuring out the rules. He enjoys exploring new places with his foster sister, though he’s a little hesitant to go out on his own. With a bit more confidence, he’s sure to become a wonderful walking companion. At home, Tavis is calm and easygoing. He sleeps through the night in the big bed but does just fine in his kennel when left alone (though he rarely needs it!). He’s non-destructive and enjoys relaxing with his foster sister and feline friend while his humans are away. Could this sweet, gentle boy be the perfect addition to your family? He’d be thrilled to meet you!. Note: Tavis does require a friendly, confident dog and a fenced yard in the home! Adoption fee:$595

Story
Age: 7 years old Weight: 40lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown but likely fine Kid friendly: Calmer and older kiddos ok Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: No Adoption fee: $595 Patch is a very laid back puppy-like dog. Once he gets comfortable his favorite thing to do is cuddle up on the couch or bed! He loves to greet his humans with a happy dance and butt wiggle. Loves the snow and being outside chasing leaves and eating fresh snow. He is potty trained but still working on how to tell people when he needs to go. He is not crated trained and prefers to do his bathroom business off leash. He is good on a leash but prefers the apartment complex's doggy area. He doesn't require a fence at his home, but will need a fenced dog run or similar nearby to do his business. He is quiet and ok for apartment life. He has only barked twice and both have been at someone coming in the front door. Patch can be a solo doggo, though he wouldn't mind a doggie friend. He is ok in car. Not a fan, but just sits and pants. Patch sometimes doesn't like to share his toys, so older, respectful kiddos or adults would be best for him in his forever home!
