Name: Franny Breed:  Cocker Spaniel Weight:  25 pounds  Gender: Female Spayed/neutered: Yes Age: 7 years (will be 8 in August) Reason for Intake: owner is ill  Medical (shots etc.): Up-to-Date Good with dogs:  She can be reactive with other dogs when she is on leash but generally okay when not leash restricted; lives with another dog now Good with cats: Lives with 2 cats  Good with kids: Yes Good with strangers:  She barks a lot if a new person comes to the door, but once the person comes into the house she is fine and wants the person’s affection/attention. Guarding issues: will not give up high value treats or food Ever bitten a human: She has bitten the owner and a family member when they tried to take  food from her when she was guarding it Ever bitten a dog: Yes – once; she ran out the door and grabbed at a dog who was walking by; the dog did not need medical treatment Behavioural issues: She jumps up on people (affectionately)  Housetrained: Yes – although she has gone in the house a few times but if she is walked regularly, this doesn’t happen Crate trained: No Destructive: She likes to chew backpacks – the part that you use to hold it – or the straps that go over your shoulders. The same with purse straps. We now try to keep these packs/purses away from her. Also, if she gets into a garbage pail she will get tissue and tear it into small pieces  Leash skills: She is pretty good although sometimes needs to be encouraged follow along; tends to go in many different directions when smells something good Okay with manipulations: yes Known commands: sit Feeding schedule:  She eats twice a day Medical issues:  None
