Moe is a staff favorite at the sanctuary and it's not hard to see why with his deep soulful eyes and cute curly locks. But his good looks can almost be a detriment as everyone wants to meet him and give him love and pets. Moe might look like a fluffy teddy bear, but he does not want to be hugged, squeezed, or snuggled. Moe does enjoy the company of people on his own terms - let him come to you for petting and respect his choice to walk away when he's finished. Moe absolutely loves his walks! He trots right along and enjoys all the sights and smells while checking in with his handler with his big brown eyes. He also jumps into a car easily and rides like a polite, easygoing passenger just watching out the window. Aside from walks, one of Moe's favorite things is stuffy toys and he has quite the collection. He likes to show off his toys to his human friends, but he doesn't really want to play fetch and instead keeps all the toys for himself! Once Moe knows and trusts a person and the person is confident at reading and understanding Moe's body language and signals, Moe can be a total ham and goofball. He loves to roll on his back while relaxing on soft bedding, but he absolutely loves to play in the snow and roll on his back making "Moe angels" during breaks of bounding in the snow. Moe is looking for an adult only home where he can be around people who will respect his space, signals, and boundaries. His home should be one that is experienced with dogs. Moe is twelve years old and has lived in a shelter or sanctuary for most of his life. He's ready to settle down in a quiet home that doesn't have a lot of visitors where he can have structure, routine, and also some fun with people he trusts. Moe likes other dogs but can be selective about who he lives with. He should meet any dogs he might be living with before going home.
