Story
Tucker is an almost 6-year-old, black and white French Brittany.  He is neutered, current on his vaccinations, heart-worm negative and fully house-trained.  The ideal home for him would be calm, patient, and loving with Brittany-experienced owners.  A home with no other dogs would be best and no cats is mandatory.  Tucker is affectionate and quite cuddly with a lot of his time spent lying by your feet or maybe on the couch next to you. He listens quite well and is easy to manage.  He is self-confident and friendly to all people. He often likes to sleep on the bed with you. Tucker would do well with daily brisk walks and the occasional hike for exercise as long as he has a fenced yard to run and play in.  Tucker pulls hard on a leash so a front-attached walking harness is recommended, especially if you have to walk by other dogs regularly.  One-on-one leash training is highly recommended.  Tucker enjoys playing fetch and will occasionally throw a toy around on his own.  He is good at respecting fences (a 6-foot secure wooden fence) but not front doors - he can turn the handle and open the door if it is not locked.  Tucker’s only issue it that he tends to be reactive with new dogs.  He particularly seems to be triggered by young dogs as their energy annoys him and he seems to get along better with older, calm female dogs.  Homes that have regularly visiting dogs are not going to be a good option since Tucker takes a long time to accept new dogs.  He is not a social butterfly dog-park dog, but he is loving and devoted to his humans.    Tucker’s adoption fee is $350.  If you are interested in bringing Tucker into your home, please complete an on-line adoption application at www.nbran.org (under the Adopt icon).  If you have questions after completing your application, please contact Susan at wanbran@comcast.net.  You will be contacted by your state coordinator once your application is reviewed.  A telephone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.   NBRAN has a volunteer transport system and Tucker may be transported up to 1400 miles from Boise ID to an appropriate home.

Story
Hi there!  It's me...Becca!  I am ½ of an amazing pair of Brittanys and we are looking for our forever home…. TOGETHER.  My sister Britta and I used to live outside all the time but now we know what it’s like to sleep inside and we like it! I like to sleep in the room with my people but prefer a dog bed on the floor beside you.  I like people, but I like my own space too.  (you can cuddle with my sister though!)  I like to be outside and watch the birds and the critters.  We have a doggie door and a huge fenced yard so I can come and go so a fenced yard for me is a must.  I love to eat.  I was very sick when I had heart worms and was skinny…but I’m better now and I’m making up for lost time.  I love to take your socks and to steal things off the counter when foster mom isn’t looking.  I also pull on a leash when I walk.  Hey…no one is perfect right?  Like my sister Britta I'm pretty zippy for my age so I like walks and running outside to burn some steam. I like my foster family, but I can be nervous around new people that come to the house.  I just bark at them a bit…that’s all.  Foster mom says I'm "discriminating".  I am spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations and overall very healthy.  So if you are looking for a great couple of Brittanys to join your family….we are your girls.  We will only go to our new home together…. together forever!  Our adoption fee, as we are seniors, is $200 US each or if you are a senior too it’s $100 US each.  We are located near London, Ontario, Canada but NBRAN can transport us up to 2200 kms or 1400 miles.  If you are interested, please submit an application and our people will get in touch with you.  http://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application For more information about Becca (and Britta) please contact sandratoal18@gmail.com We will NOT consider splitting up this pair. They have been together their entire lives.

Story
Bandit is one of the sweetest dogs we have seen in a while.  Half Brittany and half English Pointer, he has lots of energy when outside with an almost unbelievable off-switch in the home.  Indeed, Bandit is a sweet, loving lap dog in a large body.  He just wants to lay around and cuddle.  Bandit needs a home where he can live indoors with the family and be showered with love.  He has been wonderful with the older, dog-savvy children in his foster home.  Bandit will need a home with a good-sized yard and a secure, 6-foot high fence so he can safely run and hunt squirrels.  He will also need to be with an owner who takes him on frequent walks.   Preference will be given to adopters with sporting dog experience who understand the energy needs and running tendencies of these dogs.   It is clear Bandit came from a home where he was badly abused and that history has left him with a few reactive behaviors.  While he does well on leased walks, he does not respond well when being led or grabbed by the collar.  He also will periodically cower if you try to step over him or he is surprised.  He does not get aggressive but freezes with fear.  This behavior is slowly disappearing as his foster family works with him and builds his confidence.  Because of his abuse history, Bandit needs a very patient family that can help to continue to build his confidence.  Bandit will only be adopted to a home with either no children or with dog-savvy, patient children over the age of 9.  Because Bandit is anxious about where he sits in the pack he will do best as the only dog in his new home.  Bandit is UTD on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, neutered, and micro-chipped.  His adoption fee will be $325 to offset his vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If interested in adding Bandit you family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.NBRAN.org (under the Adopt tab).   Bandit can be transported up to 1400 miles to an approved home that is appropriate for him.  If you have questions once you’ve completed your application, please contact Susan at wanbran@comcast.net. NOTE that once your application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.
