Story
Annie’s Facebook Album< /a> Annie- O is a Collie mix that was going to be killed in an over-crowded shelter in Kentucky. She had been returned to the shelter after 4 failed adoptions-- it's no wonder as she is infected with 2 tick borne diseases and now that she has started treatment- her personality is coming out. She is still a bit timid and will need a patient adopter and she needs a home with other dogs to help her bond. She loves women but is leery of men. She is doing great in her new foster home following her new foster momma around, wagging her tail and enjoying sleeping in bed. She has so much potential and in the right home- she is going to be a loving companion. If you would like to know more about Annie- O, please call Lisa at 630-694-1359 or message me here. We should have new photos soon.

Story
Igor Cavalera: smart, affectionate, lovable. Oh, and an escape artist. Named after a drummer from a rock band, this 3-year-old Collie/Great Pyrenees mix is sure to get your blood pumping.Igor is very loving, both with his humans and with other dogs. He's always up for a good game of catch and is happy to share his toys. Igor is housebroken and knows to only chew on his toys and bones. He is NOT a fan of the crate and will let you know he's unhappy if placed inside. For this reason, he would do best with a family who is frequently home. This is one smart dog and he will surely thrive with ongoing training. He figured out how to navigate a door handle and is quick to let himself out if given the chance. Igor is great on the leash and enjoys exploring the neighborhood on walks or in the car.At 85 pounds, Igor is a lot of dog - but it's all heart. He is filled with love and enthusiasm for life. Can't we all use a little more of that?Interested in adopting this dog? Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog's individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Come to the show to find out if this dog is the right fit for you - it's helpful to bring all family members and current dogs. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don't know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Story
Meet Mazie JuM Name: My name is Mazie, short for Amazing. Amazing that I am still alive after scrounging for food trying to stay out of the way of meanies while living as a stray in a local neighborhood. *womp womp Debbie Downer alert* Favorite Food: Pizza crust. Tortilla with bean essence and a French fry that touched a hamburger patty but also touched the pavement. Look guys, I am not a foodie yet, I am just now adjusting to being taken care of. At a later date, I plan to have a favorite food. P.S. It won’t be sushi, I want my stuff cooked, now that I am fancy. Age/Weight/Breed: I am about 1.5 years old and weigh 40 lbs. They had me labeled the ever so pupular “Lab” mix, but think I am mixed with something smaller and cute like a Collie or Australian Shepherd. Favorite Song: Girl by Maren Morris. Temperament: Look guys, I was living on my own for a while and lemme tell ya something, not all humans are nice and it was wise that I practiced avoidance when I could. I am gaining weight and confidence, and I must say the weight was much easier to gain, from 31 pounds up to 40 pounds. I am shy at first, but really sweet once you can be trusted. What The Volunteer Has to Say About Her: Mazie would do best in a quiet non busy home setting since she is shy. Even better would be a laid back and confident buddy in the home that can show her how to act. She's great with other dogs and with patience warms up to people. Leash and crate trained. To see her blossom in a loving home will be such a joy. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and are current with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $400 for dogs over a year old, which also includes the cost of transportation to the assigned location. Medical records accompany each dog at the time of delivery and may be emailed to adopter prior to dog arrival if desired. Microchips will be automatically registered to the new owner after payment of adoption fee. The registration site we use is Michelson Found Animals which is free to use and update during the lifetime of your pet. Please allow 24-48 hours for the new information to appear on the website. God's Dogs Rescue will remain as a permanent back up registration for safety sake. Please visit our website http://godsdogsrescue.org/ for helpful information re: transport, our adoption process and application, volunteering and fostering, and photos of our dogs/pups looking for homes!! Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescued dog, their LIVES depend on it!

UPDATE: According to my foster mom, I am a true sweety-pie that doesn't have a mean bone in my body! It takes time for me to feel comfortable with new people and places, but once I get acclimated I’ll follow you around like your very own 4-legged shadow 🙂. Due to my shyness, I would be best fit for a family without young children. I LOVE other dogs and would do best in a home where I am not the only dog. My favorite hobbies include long walks through the neighborhood, stick chewing in the backyard, running around with my doggy friends, and cuddling up next to my family for a nice long nap! Original message: I was born around the 28th of Sept, 2018 down in Tenn but hitched a ride up to Illinois in order to find a 4ever home. The world is so big and I am so young. I look to another dog or to a human to make me feel comfortable. The shelter folks say that When I get out of my shyness, I will be the most lovable pet ever. If you would like to meet me, PLEASE FILL OUT THE APPLICATION on the website of www.puppiesthatneedlove.com under How To Adopt. Thank you for looking.

Story
Meet Sammy, a handsome Smooth-Coated Collie who came to BAARK’s Safe House when his family no longer wanted him. Although initially traumatized by being abandoned by the family he had known, loved, and loyally protected for eight years, Sammy had adjusted in his new foster home. This sweet senior is estimated to be about 10 years old. He came to us grossly overweight as a result of getting little exercise but plenty of low quality filler food. Sammy has lost over 10 lbs while in his foster home the last two months, but has another 10 – 15 lbs yet to lose. He came to us weighing an unhealthy weight of 77 lbs. With a high quality food and an exercise routine, any dog can slim down, as Sammy is doing!! Sammy is a gentle boy, good with other dogs (but can be shy). A slow introduction to new dogs is important, so as not to overwhelm Sam. He would do well living with another easy-going senior, or as the only dog. He ignores cats. Sammy is a very smart boy and a quick learner. He has taken on the job of protecting his people. He is always watching out for strangers and will bark to alert of any strange people or occurrences. Sammy is reported to take his job seriously, ensuring that everyone in the household is present, and at night, safely tucked into bed. Then, he can rest too! Sam is scared of loud noises, thunderstorms, and fireworks, and prefers an overall quiet environment with a handful of people. He can become stressed and overwhelmed when too many people are present. For example, if the family often has parties and lots of company. Sammy would be fine with older children but younger ones might scare him. He is fine with other dogs once he gets to know them and feels comfortable with them. Sammy is one of the many seniors who BAARK is trying to re-home with a family who can appreciate the love and attentiveness that seniors can bring. Sammy is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventative. He is housebroken as well. If you are interested in adding this sweet senior to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Emily is feeling sad these days, after having been discarded by her family for allegedly partnering with the other dog in the home to harm the family cat. While the circumstances are questionable, we wanted to get Emily out of the situation before she was dumped at Animal Control. We are not sure of her breed, but Emily is a very stunning and unique-looking girl, perhaps a Collie-Hound Mix of sorts. She is about 5 years old, and weighs about 65 lbs (she needs a family willing to help her lose some weight…she should weigh about 50-55 lbs). Emily is fine with other dogs but might prefer to be an only dog…or have a single, laid-back canine housemate to keep her company. She cannot be placed with cats in the home, given the circumstances of her past. She is fine with older children but children under the age of 8 might be too much for her. She’s housebroken, and overall calm and well-behaved. Emily will require a fenced yard, as she enjoys being outside in the sun and simply hanging out outside. She is up-to-date on her vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative (and on monthly heartworm preventative). She does need to lose some weight, through exercise and monitoring of her diet…of high-quality natural food….as well as limiting of her treats. While some people may consider Emily to look a little scary, she’s just sad and frustrated to find herself homeless. Please give this girl a chance at a home of her own by opening your home and heart to her…and providing her a forever family of her own. If you are interested in adding this wonderful girl to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895
