Story
Age: 3 Years (as of 1/13/2020) Weight: 55 lbs (as of 1/24/2020) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Jordan is a happy go lucky dude! He is a sweet, playful, and loving young boy. We are thinking he is a Coonhound mix. He loves meeting new people, going to new places, and loves going for car rides! He appears to be calm and confident on a leash. He is a big boy and can easily clear a short fence if he gets bored or is left alone, so a potential adopter should be ready to take him on walks or hikes if they don’t have a fenced yard. He has been tested with young kids and did great, but doesn’t currently live with children. We don’t yet know how he is around cats. He is house trained and crate training is in progress, and so far so good. This sweet boy loves to play, but seems to like people more than toys when outside. On his walks he gets a little excited when he sees other dogs but in a friendly way! Inside he snuggles with his toys and shares his bed with multiple stuffed animals! Jordan is a warmhearted boy who just wants a loving forever home. Can you make his dream come true? Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family! Jordan’s Story: He was found as a stray in a rural area and brought to a loving shelter. Medical Note: This dog tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. This does not mean that this dog had ehrlichia. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was preventatively treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline. Please see here for more information on ehrlichia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ehrlichiosis_(canine) . Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor. Adoption Fee: $585 To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
