Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! I’m Daisy, the honorary Dachshund! I’m actually a young, happy-go-lucky 45-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound! I’m about 1-½ or 2 years old, so I have a lot of energy to play and I LOVE playing with my foster mom and her 2 dogs, Missy and Riley. I love to play chase and wrestle with Missy and I like hanging with Riley in the backyard. I haven’t met any kitty cats yet, but I’d probably be OK with them. I like to play fetch and I love chasing squirrels. I know how to sit and I’m working on the other commands. I’m crate trained and haven’t had any accidents in the house. I learn quickly, especially with treats as my reward. My foster mom says I’m very sweet and affectionate. OH, and I’m going to need a bunch of toys because I like to chew them up! My foster mom has this to say about me: “There are several varieties of Coonhound and Daisy is a Tri-color Treeing Walker. She’s very tolerant and easy to handle. We also have a purebred hybrid Treeing Walker/Foxhound senior girl. She’s an amazing companion and nobody wanted her when she was in Harris County six years ago. She brings a lot of joy to our household. I was really happy we could help sweet Daisy.” Can’t wait until I find a loving forever home of my own! Could it be with you? If so, please submit an adoption application for me! I promise to be the best friend and companion you could ever hope to find!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
In case you don't know what LOVE looks like... Houston, TX area: Joey was rescued off the streets by a FPA volunteer. This poor boy was living out there for a very long time and was in horrific condition. Joey had been hit by a car (not sure how long ago) and his pelvis now twisted resulted in his back-left leg to dangle. He also had multiple skin and eye infections, he was also heartworm positive not neutered and was skin and bones. Joey has come such a long way, he has been neutered, had entropion surgery and was on medication for ear and skin infections and has been through heartworm treatment. The vet looked at Joey’s leg and pelvis and unfortunately there was so much arthritis that surgery would not help him. Joey is now taking Cosequin to help ease his discomfort. Joey is estimated to be 7 years old. Joey is house and crate trained, he does well with other dogs and is a happy boy! Joey is a toy terminator as he loves to destuff toys! He also enjoys chewing on bones too! Joey loves to be outside in nice weather or run around the yard with a toy in his mouth. One of his favorite things to do is to get a belly rub! Joey also likes to snuggle on the couch, he loves to be loved on! Joey is looking for a family that will adore him like his foster Mom does and will love him through his senior years. Joey weighs 45 lbs.
