Story

I found her in the Commerce area, roaming around the freeway exit, she seemed disoriented and was just a matter of time before she walked the wrong way. I have been fostering her for a few months now, she is a very sweet and docile dog, very smart as well. Although the first month, she did try to run away from me, a couple of times, it took time to gain her trust, she's very shy at first but she will turn into the happiest sweetest dog you know once she realizes you are there for her, I would LOVE to keep her, but I already been warned by management in my building that I am only allowed 2 pets :( , so I would love to find a nice owner for her. She's up to date on her shots and rabbies as well, she is already fixed as well, she will make a great pet for anyone who has patience and spends time with her. PS she has a bad habit of eating anything from the street so please Becareful.

Story

Meet Lucy, Lucy is a 4 year old Corgi/ Shepherd mix. She is a gorgeous, sweet and goofy girl! She likes chilling with her people, going on walks, and sniffing the sniffs. Her favorite pastime is sunbathing, running around her home, and playing with her human kids and furry friends. Lucy is a medium energy girl; she would prefer to have a plan if there are long workdays, so she isn't in her crate all day. Lucy is great with other dogs, kids, but she has not met any cats yet. She is crate trained, house trained, and ready to live her best life! Lucy came to us from a fellow rescuer. Lucy is full grown at about 30 lbs. Due to current circumstances and being in high demand we are not holding our normal adoption event. If you have a specific dog of interest you must submit an application to our email. The application can be found on our website lovejoyfoundation.org. Due to a skeleten crew it is hard for us to respond to everyone so if you do not get a response, we have moved to a better fit. Story

Skippi is sweet, gentle, quiet, and calm. She currently lives in a quiet 1 bedroom apartment with a senior cat. She leaves the cat alone, and she gets along well with other small dogs. (However, she gets overwhelmed with big dogs.) She is independent (no separation anxiety while I’m away) and tougher than she seems. Skippi looks like a white Mini Wolf with short legs, and she’s got the spirit to match. She is potty trained and uses the pee pad diligently, and can be crate trained. She loves to eat. She also rarely barks. Skippi is an adventurer at heart as she LOVES to go outside, but she is loyal as well. She gets so excited to get into her harness and leash; she even runs and jumps. She’s so happy at the park, in someone’s grassy backyard, or in bed. She is also very patient with children and lets them play with her and cuddle her with blankets. Note that she is an old lady with special needs. She is around 13 years old.

Story

Pumba is a 1.5 yr old Corgi mix. He was living with a woman who could not afford medical treatment after he was hit by a car. She had taped his leg to his body hoping that would help. A few days after the accident a rescuer reached out to the owner and offered to help. Pumba had a double fractured hip and his other hip was dislocated plus he had multiple lacerations. After surgery and rehab his rescuer was able to save his leg from amputation. Now, 8 months later Pumba is looking for his furever home (he was surrendered by his previous owner). Pumba is very sweet with his people and loves to lay on your lap. Pumba is better with smaller non dominant dogs. He would do very well as an only child or with a small/medium non dominant companion. Pumba is not a hiking buddy. He would be happier lounging on the couch in a home with no stairs (unless you could carry him up and down). He is able to walk and run but it would be best if he was in a less active home with older children only. Pumba is fully vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. Pumba is being posted as a courtesy.
