Our email address only reaches our posting volunteers who create a courtesy post for the dogs in this shelter to help them find homes (we have not met the dogs, and have no additional information on them, therefore please contact the shelter directly if you have any questions on this dog). DATE THIS DOG BECOMES AVAILABLE AND URGENT: 4/5 PET ID# A734209 AGE: 4 Years ***DEVORE ANIMAL SHELTER*** 19777 Shelter Way, San Bernardino, CA 92407 909-386-9820 x 0 SHELTER HOURS: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays OPEN 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM Wednesdays OPEN 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Saturday and Sundays OPEN 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Adoption Fees: Dogs 8 - 16 weeks: $85 Dogs over 16 weeks: $104 These dogs are EXTREMELY TIME SENSITIVE. Will you save their life? After a 96 hour stray hold period after they enter the shelter, (less if they were surrendered by their owners), they become available for adoption, and also become urgent. They quickly needs adopters to save their life on or immediately after their available date, or they will succumb to euthanasia. The shelter is sadly very high and fast kill due to the amount of owner surrenders and strays in that area, and not enough space to house them all. So many adorable, deserving dogs are losing their lives every week. Remember - dogs in the shelter may be stressed or scared. It's a frightening place to be. They may not always show their true personality - please don't pass them by - give them a second chance at life! http://www.sbcounty.gov/acc/frameset_lost.html (check both the Adoptable AND the Lost and Found section for adoptable animals).

Story
Meet Clover. In November, she was running down a busy street. We pulled over to see if we could get her away from the street. She was frantic. We knew not to chase her. In a flash, she ran back into the street and was struck hard by a car. Hard we all heard it, saw it and screamed inside the car. The car took off, leaving Clover in the middle of the road....dead. Or so we thought. I quickly pulled the car closer. Cars were zooming past. I had my friend slow traffic while I got closer. As soon as I got near, she lifted her head, terror in her eyes. I screamed for my friend to grab the blanket in my car. I pleaded with her to not bite me, I was only trying to help. I rushed her to the vet down the road. They said I’d have to pay for euthanasia . All while my friend and kids in car are crying. They ended up doing an X-ray and said she had head trauma but wasn’t as bad as thought. I don’t know HOW, she was hit hard. Long story, she went to my vet. After a few days, she was allowed to come home. They said she was feral. Once home, and relaxed, she opened up. She loves kids. They were the ones to get her to go out to potty (turns our she’s house trained). She wanted to stay in the bathroom , alone. But one day she ventured out. And decided sleeping in their bed was much better. She’s about 3 years old and looking for her home. She’s a very special girl and very lucky to be alive, so she is called Clover. She responded immediately to it!! She prefers women and kids. She will need a few days to adjust and feel comfortable in a new home. Sleeping in a child’s bed is probably what would be best. She’s afraid of leashes so that’s something that she needs work with. She’s good with most dogs. She’s truly a special girl and deserves the perfect humans. She’s a Corgi mix. About 30ish pounds.
