Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     4y 30lbs Mickey is all grown up!  He is multilingual, speaks 4 languagesl: Dog, Spanish, English and Spanglish! Pretty good for a young whippersnapper:)  He won't get bigger, will fill out a little bit, but he will definitely get sweeter:)  Typical PR street dog with a mix of breeds (hound, Corgi, Jack mix?), he is looking for a calm place with another doggy to call his home while he acclimates to life in the US (he justttttttt arrived from PR).  He very much needs a dog friend in residence and will be a great companion to both his 2 and 4 footed family.  Please apply so he doesn't get too comfy with us which only makes it harder for them to change homes again.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
Sadie, 9 years old when rescued in September 2019, is a senior Corgi mix. She was overweight when rescued at 25 pounds and her foster mom thinks she may have lost a pound or two, but Sadie loves to eat. Her owner became too sick to take care of her and had to give her up. Sweet Sadie needs a new home where she can brighten some lucky person’s days and nights. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm negative. Sadie is good on a leash, rides well in the car and gets along well with other dogs. She is just an all around good gal. Her adoption fee is $350 which includes the $145 transport fee. If you would like to adopt this sweet angel, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
NAME: Sam RDV 901 BREED: Corgidor - Corgi / Lab Hybrid GENDER: Male WEIGHT: 25 lbs AGE: DOB: 04-11-19 LOCATION: Delhi, LA DONATION: $450.00 (includes Transport) ADOPTED ON 03-13-20: Sam and his sister Suzy brother Sam were dropped off out in the middle of a huge field by an irrigation pumps along with a black kitten that was sick. The owner of the field was riding through and checking all of the pumps to make sure they were covered and ready for winter and found them. They kept the kitten and took it to the vet but our foster partner was called about the puppies because they had a dog at home that was not good with other dogs. Although our partner was full and wasn’t ready to take in any more, she knew that it was a huge rainstorm and cold front coming and she couldn’t let the puppies stay out there in the open field with no shelter or food so, she took them in and called Rescue Dog Village. Sam is a male, Corgi Lab hybrid, DOB; 04-11-19, he is 18 pounds and up to date on all his vaccinations, neutered and HW negative, he is very sweet and playful. Sam and his sister are very affectionate with each other and would probably love to be together but each dog is stable enough individually that it is not a requirement. Their foster mom feels that they would adapt and do fine with human bonding as well. Sam is described as the cutest little thing. He is a combination of good-natured cuteness and a winning personality and eagerness to please. He is a little more energetic than Suzy; he likes to play, wrestle and stand guard watching for squirrels near their pen. He is also very loving and affectionate and like his sister they get along great with all adults and children. He does fine with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats but he does love to chase them like he does the squirrels. I think it is more about the game of chase than it is about the squirrels themselves. He is a great companion a family Sam likes to talk and is a spirited bouncy most adorable boy; he loves an adventure! At the end of playtime he loves belly rubs and wants to snuggle for a nap. He greets everyone with his “hello” tail and would let you scratch his ears and belly forever if you offered to. Sam will be a wonderful companion in a loving home and make any family beyond happy. He is a sweet-natured boy and wants nothing more than to have his own family. He is the perfect Holiday gift. If you are looking for a dog that you would like to take with you and be with all day, Sam will likely be a great match for you. If you are fond of a dog on your lap, he would be happy to be with you. Any family who adopts her will also be happy to have him. We are looking for someone who has a lot of time and attention to give to Sam because she deserves it. Sam is in excellent health and ready to leap into your heart and go to his fur-ever home. If you are the type that want to make a difference this year to a deserving dog in need, Sam will thank you every day and fill your life with laughter and licks. Our adopters are the most wonderful people who stand to be the last chapter of their rescue story, and the first chapter of their new forever lives! ABOUT THE BREED: The Welsh Corgi and the Labrador Retriever is recognized by the Dog Registry of America. The Corgidor is a much-loved hybrid, combining the popular Welsh Corgi and the Labrador Retriever, two huge favorites. It is thought that this hybrid has been around for a long time and the result of accidental cross breeding between the two parents. The loyal lover and dutiful watchdog qualities of the Welsh Corgi and the even tempered, intelligent, calm disposition of the Labrador are some of the traits breeders look to capture in their Corgidor puppies. Please see more “About the Breed” at the end of the bio on our website at: www.rescuedogvillage.com TO SEE MORE PHOTOS OF THIS DOG AND ALL OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS, PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE Rescue Dog Village Disclaimer: Please note that the breeds posted on our dogs' biographies are our best guess based on years of working with rescue dogs. Adopters who need to know the exact breed or mix of breeds of a particular dog must have the dog's DNA tested at their own expense. RESCUE DOG VILLAGE WEBSITE: WWW.RESCUEDOGVILLAGE.COM ABOUT OUR RESCUE These dogs deserve all of our attention, and in Rescue Dog Village, we are committed to our adopters and our dogs equally. We offer full disclosure and hope to make the best matches possible. Please know our adoption donations never cover our expenses. We rely on the generosity of our adopters and supporters to help us help the dogs. Our rescue is ONLY in the business of offering FULL DISCLOSURE to adopters, and expects and hopes to engage your questions and concerns fully. We owe it to the dogs we rescue and all the wonderful families/adopters who might consider welcoming our charges into their hearts and home. Our dogs are waiting for that ideal forever home where they will be cherihed as deserving family members. It's sad these second chances are even necessary for these dogs, but we are committed to them and will devote the time and energy to their re-homing, and not just MOVE them to save more dogs. We diligently and responsibly seek good matches, as we don't want to re-home the dog again. These animals have already endured more than they should have, and through no fault of their own. It behooves us to be honest and forthright, and we appreciate the same in return from applicants. It's that winning combination of reciprocal trust and respect that allows for successful placements to be made. Happy adopters translate to happy dogs, and that's our goal! Our rescue volunteers will be more than honored to be in touch with you directly and promptly, after receiving your application and conducting a mandatory a veterinarian check. If you have never owned a dog before, please submit your application regardless, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. TAKE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR SPAM AS SOME RESPONSES FROM US WIND UP THERE WE'VE DISCOVERED. Also, take care to contact your veterinarian to let them know a member of rescue will be inquiring about your pet history!

Story
Lucy is a 2 year old Corgi mix. she was adopted from st Hubert’s shelter in Madison Nj. Her owner is sick with cancer and unable to take care of her. I am fostering her until she gets a good home but I have 4 dogs and one of them has special needs. It would not be fair to Lucy to keep her here where she will not get the attention and training she deserves. She is a funny little character, full of energy, but needs help with boundaries and obedience

Story
Goofy is an 15-20lb little cutie around 1 yr old. He's the happiest and most snuggly dog ever - just wants to be in your lap or getting belly rubs!! This guy is of unknnown origin and the breed mix is just a guess. He walks well on a leash and watches Netflix like a pro! He is calm and well behaved and gets along with other pooches as well as people. He loves to wrestles with other small dogs and would be fine as a solo pup if he can sleep with you and be spoiled rotten. He just likes all the love for himself! He's super comical and loves bellyrubs and dancing. He sheds and is not hypoallergenic. He is fostered in Houston TX (please do not ask his location - it is Houston TX no matter what it might say elsewhere) so you cannot meet prior to adoption. His fee is $850. Email houstonstreetdogs@gmail.com for an application. He has not been and will not be cat/kid tested because his foster doesn't have either.
