Story
Sadie, 9 years old when rescued in September 2019, is a senior Corgi mix. She was overweight when rescued at 25 pounds and her foster mom thinks she may have lost a pound or two, but Sadie loves to eat. Her owner became too sick to take care of her and had to give her up. Sweet Sadie needs a new home where she can brighten some lucky person’s days and nights. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm negative. Sadie is good on a leash, rides well in the car and gets along well with other dogs. She is just an all around good gal. Her adoption fee is $350 which includes the $145 transport fee. If you would like to adopt this sweet angel, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     4y 30lbs Mickey is all grown up!  He is multilingual, speaks 4 languagesl: Dog, Spanish, English and Spanglish! Pretty good for a young whippersnapper:)  He won't get bigger, will fill out a little bit, but he will definitely get sweeter:)  Typical PR street dog with a mix of breeds (hound, Corgi, Jack mix?), he is looking for a calm place with another doggy to call his home while he acclimates to life in the US (he justttttttt arrived from PR).  He very much needs a dog friend in residence and will be a great companion to both his 2 and 4 footed family.  Please apply so he doesn't get too comfy with us which only makes it harder for them to change homes again.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Story
Name: Cayenne Location: Garden City Park, Long Island, NY Breed: Mixed Breed Approximate Age: 4 years young Sex: Female Weight: 35 lbs Medical History: Cayenne is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped. 🐶Other Dogs: No ❌ 😽Cats: No ❌ 🏠House-trained: Yes ✅ ⭐️ Crate-trained: Yes ✅ 👫Kids: No❌ If you would like to meet Cayenne and / or are interested in fostering or adopting her, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or amsterdog@gmail.com. To get the process started, please fill out our online application. Link to our Application: http://amsterdog.org/adoptionfoster-application/ Named Cayenne for her softer-than-velvet-orangey-red fur, this spicy little cuddle-bunny really should have been named Bit O’ Honey, cuz that’s what she is! Poor little Cayenne was found abandoned in an apartment in Manhattan, over a year ago. Avery kind hearted soul who discovered her wanted desperately to help but couldn’t keep her, and so Cayenne went to a boarding facility. The people there know what a love she is, and really want her to find a home, but it’s not as easy for Cayenne because she must be your 1 and only pet. Cayenne ADORES peaceful men & women, and she will thrive in a calm, structured, quiet environment. It’s true that Cayenne is still quite young, between 3-4 years old, and she does have a lot of energy, but there are no dog parks, or long walks around the neighborhood in her future. She has lots of fun chasing balls and playing with all kinds of toys, inside, or in a very secure, fenced yard. She is just happy to be with her people. Cayenne is very fearful of other dogs, so defensive aggression is an issue. Cayenne shakes in fear and lunges when other dogs approach her, and dogs who are used to being tested with others, retreat from her immediately. Cayenne should always be contained and supervised, and she must be securely muzzled if a public outing is necessary. A securely fenced yard is also a necessity for her. Cayenne needs a very responsible, very experienced person to love her & we guarantee that person will get their money’s worth & so much more! Cayenne is a bit timid at first, but just let her approach you in her own time and manner, and you will quickly earn her trust! She loves to cuddle and fall asleep with her favorite people. She responds very well to a gentle, happy tone, and she’s a happy girl, just not with other dogs, or furry little mammals that run fast and climb…her prey drive is high and mainly focused on squirrels, etc…-birds are mostly a curiosity. Cayenne is crate trained and her favorite things to chew are deer antlers, they keep her occupied and happy. Cayenne should never be over stimulated, or subjected to an environment that’s loud, angry, or chaotic, she’s a quiet & dainty little girl, who is very gentle and affectionate with her humans. Cayenne LOVES to go for rides in the car- there’s so much in the world for this little Bit O’ Honey to experience and see within the safety of her own family’s car and home…not so much happiness though, living in the confines of a small cage in a boarding facility for more than a year…her giant puppy heart is filling with sadness & tears…she’s still very young and has a lifetime of love, loyalty, devotion & joy to share with a very special person or people, who understand her needs and can keep her safe and loved for the rest of her precious life.

Story
Goofy is an 15-20lb little cutie around 1 yr old. He's the happiest and most snuggly dog ever - just wants to be in your lap or getting belly rubs!! This guy is of unknnown origin and the breed mix is just a guess. He walks well on a leash and watches Netflix like a pro! He is calm (though gets the zoomies on occasion and loves a good wrestle) and well behaved and gets along with other pooches as well as people. He doesnt roughhouse or enjoy dog parks and would prefer to be a solo pup although he is never aggressive. He just likes all the love for himself! He's super comical and loves bellyrubs and dancing. We does shed and is not hypoallergenic. He is fostered in Houston TX (please do not ask his location - it is Houston TX no matter what it might say elsewhere) so you cannot meet prior to adoption. His fee is $850. Email your completed application to houstonstreetdogs@gmail.com for consideration. He has not been and will not be cat/kid tested because his foster doesn't have either.
