ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     4y 30lbs Mickey is all grown up!  He is multilingual, speaks 4 languagesl: Dog, Spanish, English and Spanglish! Pretty good for a young whippersnapper:)  He won't get bigger, will fill out a little bit, but he will definitely get sweeter:)  Typical PR street dog with a mix of breeds (hound, Corgi, Jack mix?), he is looking for a calm place with another doggy to call his home while he acclimates to life in the US (he justttttttt arrived from PR).  He very much needs a dog friend in residence and will be a great companion to both his 2 and 4 footed family.  Please apply so he doesn't get too comfy with us which only makes it harder for them to change homes again.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
Dixie Bell was seized from her former person due to neglect. She was in a southern shelter and at risk of euthanasia because they were told she was 14 years old. Well I have to tell you this gorgeous and sweet girl does not act like she's 14 in any way. She can hop up on the couch with the best of them and likes a good snuggle. She does okay with most other dogs but does not like them getting in her face so a laid back dog would be best for her. Dixie weighs about 30 lbs and will need to lose a few lbs but is otherwise in perfect health. Due to the Covid 19 situation we will have her get a complete checkup by our vets as soon as non emergency appointments are available. She was checked out by the vet at the shelter and deemed healthy but we like to have all the bloodwork done and make sure for ourselves. If you are interested in having a lovely little gal to chill out with please email us for an application. Dixie Bell is located in Freeport NY Her adoption fee is 450.00

In memory of amazing Grandparents!I'm delighted to sponsor the Dennis Transport!  This life saving transport, of these amazing dogs, is dedicated to my grandparents who saved up for me to be able to acquire my first dog at age 13 - so began my love for dogs!  The middle names are in memory of my beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles and my canine companions who all lived long lives and have passed.  Sadly, Finley was my precious granddaughter, who was the triplet that was born too early, and was only wish us for a few short weeks.  Welcome the Dennis Transport!  Linda Dennis - JR Volunteer since 2015   Valiant was born around February 24, 2018 and weighs about 30 pounds.  Valiant has been an absolute joy to know and is a happy, playful, social, guy who loves just about everything!  Someone is going to be very happy they found this guy and decided to adopt him! Story
Hi, my name is Quest! I was born 1/18 and currently weigh around 6lbs. My foster mom says I look like a cowboy corgi with maybe some super mutt thrown in for extra spice! I am good with kids, dogs, and cats. I am working on potty pads and house training. yay!!!!! and crate trained as well. I have your average puppy personality: silly, goofy, sweet, loving and AWESOME. Want to adopt me? Interested in becoming a forever home for Quest? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Quest. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Quest the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $475. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Pearl is a happy dog in need of a home. She has been the only dog in a home with a elderly person, due to this she hasn’t had much socialization so she can be cautious of strangers. She needs a experienced hand that can tell her emotional cues once she warms up she is the most lovingly lazy dog lol. Older children who understand dogs she would be great around also. Unfortunately for Her owners health reasons she Is need of a home ASAP as we don’t want to send her to a shelter that will euthanize her. We hope to find another home for her.

Story
ADOPTION PENDING! Einstein is such a wonderful boy! He smiles and plays and just wants to love you. The first part of his life wasn't so great though. The people bought him from a puppy mill for their 6 year old son. They told the child that Einstein was his responsibility. He was 6 for cripes sake. Little did they know that he would mistreat and abuse the puppy. Apparently he would swing him around on the leash and throw rocks at him. (future sociopath) They said once they realized he was doing this they supervised him. Well the damage had been done and he did not like the kid. So then the mom became the doggy disciplinarian. I do't know what she did but he didn't like her either after that started. So when she stepped on him he growled and snapped at her. Einstein does prefer men to women. He takes a while to warm up to females. We will not place him in a home with children due to the first part of his life. He is okay with other dogs but not great with all of them. A meet and greet with a prospective brother or sister and he does best with his own kind, corgi, we mean. He would be very happy to be an only pup if he got lots of exercise and play time. Einstein must have an experienced corgi person only! Einstein is approx. 4 years old and weighs in at around 28 lbs. He tested positive for lymes disease and has been treated and is gaining weight now but was painfully thin when he got here. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Einstein is located in Freeport NY. His adoption fee is $550
