These girls are amazing!!!!! They are a bonded pair ... mom & daughter; they adore each other so can't be separated. They are dachshund/bassett hound mixes; can they be any cuter? Red colored Sally Moore Huss is 1 1/2 years; beautiful black merle Sloane Stephens is 8 months old. (We are still on our tennis player theme!) The girls have wonderful temperaments and are great with dogs & people. Sally is a little bit shyer but warms up quickly. Sloane adores playing, whether it's with toys or other dogs. Both relish attention and will always stop what they are doing for an ear scratch or tummy rub. Although not overly hyper, they are active so need a fenced in yard in their new home. They are simply adorable and you won't be able to resist them when you meet them! The adoption fee for the pair is $450; they are spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations as well as heartworm/flea preventative. Applications are available at waldosmuttleycrew.org

Story
Meet Daisy! She's a young momma dog who got really sick while nursing and came into rescue. She's a Dachshund mix of some sort but has very big ears and longer legs. She's very young, probably between a year and two years is all. She is very loving and really enjoys sleeping in the big bed. She was a good mom but is really more interested in people than other dogs. She's working on her housebreaking and is crate trained. She is spayed and completely up to date on all her vetting including a microchip. She is very smart and would love an active family to call her own. She can jump really high so a fence is a must for her. She's a pretty quiet dog but will let you know if someone is around that she doesn't know. She is still learning her manners but has done well with most dogs she has met. She would love another playful dog friend or a family that will keep her busy with walks, toys and training. She's such a good dog and ready for a home of her own. Since she's so young and active, she might be too much for younger children. Daisy would love to have a family of her own now that she's done raising her kids.

Story
Milo is 4 years old. He is a dachshund mix, but not sure his other breed, maybe a terrier. Milo and his dad Scrappy, a full blooded dachshund senior, are inseparable so please know this, and you can find Scrappy here on adopt a pet. Our family adopted Milo and Scrappy from a Humane Society 2 years ago. Milo and Scrappy were surrendered by their owner due to being homeless and a very cold winter. He is one of the best dogs we've ever had and if it were not for my husbands very sensitive allergies, we would keep him, but I've put rehoming off long enough. He loves to play ball and will fetch 24/7 if allowed. He is a bit timid and takes a while to warm up to, especially young children. He has never bitten to my knowledge. He is a fantastic companion and loves to hang out wherever we go. Rides in cars very well. Milo needs a grain free diet and good nutrition for his skin health, and does have an eye that often will tear and drip. Not sure what that is all about. Any questions, please ask.

Story
Scrappy is 11 years old. Our family adopted him 2 years ago along with his son, Milo (mixed) from a Human Society due to previous owner that was homeless. Scrappy and Milo are inseparable, so please know that if you're considering Scrappy for adoption. Scrappy was malnourished when we got him, but quickly recovered with good nutrition. Since then we have really enjoyed having him be a part of our family. The previous owner must have taught him the option of begging by standing on his hind legs and bouncing in circles, however, he is senior these days so we don't have him do that now. Scrappy travels very well in vehicles. He loves to spend all day on a lap if allowed or will spend all day lounging a fluffed up covers. He does well enough with other dogs but does take some time to warm up. If you are interested in Scrappy and Milo (Milo's listing is here on adopt a pet), please feel free to inquire. The reason for the need to re-home is due to my husband's health. Thank you so much.

Story
Posted/Updated 3/24/20. Zoey aka Dolly. Update: Zoey is a 8 year old dachshund that came to us from an individual who could no longer provide the care she needed. Zoey has been in her home since puppyhood. She has a very sweet temperament and is very friendly with people after she overcomes initial shyness. Zoey is a lot of fun to be around - she is very active but also likes to get cozy on her dog bed right next to you. She gets along well with other dogs and she loves cats. Zoey gets attached to her human and loves to be near you whenever possible. She definitely needs some time to get adjusted to a new environment but after a few days she acts like she never knew any other place. Zoey gets all excited when it is walking time. She has been used to going on pee pads but now that the weather is milder she is very good at going outside. Whoever takes her into a new home will have to be patient and let hr come out of her shell on her own pace. She is very sensitive. Overall Zoey is very well behaved. She barks when there is excitement with the other dogs and she is initially shy when meeting strangers. Zoey injured her back in January and had to have emergency surgery at the specialty vet in Indianapolis. She is/has been recovering very well but may always walk with a slight limp. She should not be going on very long walks, avoid uneven ground and stay away from steps as it can re-injure her back. Zoey is overweight but we have been working on it which will also help her with her further recovery. For Zoey we are looking for a calm home with no children and with someone who understands her needs for more recovery from her injury and potty training. A fenced in yard is a plus. Another rather calm dog, preferably male and about her size would be great. Zoey is okay with being home alone for a few hours but we would prefer a home where someone is home a lot since that is what she has been used to. Zoey is spayed, she is current on vaccinations including rabies, she tested negative for heartworm and is on heartworm prevention, she is micro chipped. She recently had a dental, her anal glands cleaned and her nails trimmed. If you are interested in adopting Zoey please fill out an adoption application on our web site inthenest.net. An application has to be filled out prior to setting up a meeting. Zoey's adoption fee is $250.
