Story
STORM We're sure everyone remembers Storm who was left outside our sister shelter SOS el Arca front gate in Christmas Eve day. We assume he was left alone after being beaten and then attacked by dogs before being brought to the shelter. After much needed vetting it was discovered that Storm was suffering from Sepsis, some old injuries and a fractured vertebrae. Unfortunately, this injury cannot be repaired so he will have special needs . Storm truly is a miracle dog as he was so close to death. All of us, including the vet, cannot believe this little boy's strength. He has lived a difficult life and we want what is best for him. He requires an adopter who takes this injury seriously because if he is pushed to go beyond his capabilities his issues would become worse. All he needs would be someone to watch out and protect him from further injury. We are hoping Storm can arrive to APM when COVID-19 protocols change and he could be a direct adoption. The adoption process would be an in depth one. Storm is a sweet boy who loves to cuddle, play and have fun. He loves dogs, people and children of all ages. He is a bit timid around cats but we will be working with him on this Due to his injury we feel it would be safer for him to be an only dog so he can receive all the attention he has missed. He can go for short walks but running and hiking are a definite no. A quiet house is ideal. He is crate trained and can wait to go to the bathroom for up to 6-8 hours. He really is a low maintenance dog where no extra vet care would be needed except for monthly flea and tick medication which we recommend for all our dogs.All APM dogs come UTD on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
