Meet Max! He is a 4 year old Dachshund mix. He came in with his brother Rocky and is now ready for his forever home! Max is a very special boy looking for a very special home. Max craves attention and affection. He loves belly rubs, playing with his toys and naps on his bed. However, he gets quite attached to his person. And thinks he should protect them. He can be especially nervous with men. Strangers are scary and he needs time to warm up slowly. We think a home with females is probably best for him. He does well with other dogs and cats! Due to Max needing more time and patience to adjust he needs a home with no children. For Adoption:Noodles, Tilley look mostly doxie and are most likely sisters of Willa, Phoebe, Peggy, Clyde and Casey. These 10 chiweenies, 6 girls (pictured) and 4 boys were rescued from a hoarding situation. The owner has 15 adult dogs, none of which were spayed/neutered or have had any vet care. Our rescue partners have obtained 11 of the adult dogs and all will be coming to the adoption center on 3-8.  The females will be spayed prior to adoption. All of the adults seem to be very social. These girls lost their owner suddenly when she passed away unexpectedly and there was no family to take them in. Our hearts just break for them and we promised that we would find a home for them together! Deena has an old eye injury that made her go blind in one eye, but that does not stop her one bit. They are super easy dogs who love to sunbathe, take lots of naps and cuddle with their people. They get along great with other dogs, seem to be both house and crate trained, but is still working on walking on a leash. Please consider opening your heart and home to these wonderful girls. Snickers and Spot male DOB: 3/30/16 10lbs (potential 15-20lbs) Dachshund/Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mixes Good with most dogs Unknown with cats Good with gentle children Crate Trained Secure, solid fencing attached to the home required (they can climb wire fencing and squeeze through small gaps in fencing) Snickers and Spot are brothers and were born in a Lancaster County, PA puppy mill. When they got "to old" to sell at 21 weeks of age, they were turned over to a Finding Shelter volunteer. They were very scared and unsocialized, would not walk through doorways and would cower near people, but have started to blossom and have learned to play and have fun! They love toys and to play chase in the yard. They are still building their confidence and are too afraid to walk on a leash but are slowly but surely feeling more like silly puppies every day! They need training but are very smart and love to learn. Their favorite thing is to jump up and give people kisses. They are bouncy, loving, silly boys who love one another very much and are very bonded. The first step in the process is to submit an application at www.findingshelter.org.
