Story
The sweet girl you’re bound to like a-WAFFLE lot! Hello, hoomans! My name is Waffles and I’m a 3-year-old, 33-pound, dalmatian mix. Even though most waffles require syrup, I don’t because I’m already as sweet as can be! I was rescued from The Animal Pad’s partner shelter in Ensenada with the rest of my “brunch” buddies. Ever since then, I’ve been wow-ing my foster mom with my loving personality and quick learning. I can’t wait to show you my stellar skills and personality too! I can sometimes be mistaken for a shy gal, but I promise, that’s only in the beginning! When I meet new people, dogs, or go to new places, I need some time to get comfortable with my surroundings. However, once I know I’m safe and sound, my personality shines. I absolutely adore other dogs. Playing with other pooches is my favorite activity by far! Sometimes kids don’t understand my shy personality, but again, once I warm up, I’m a happy girl. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’ll like them. My second favorite thing to do is to go on walks (or runs), but I can only go about a mile before my hip starts bugging me. Other than that, I am already spayed and healthy! In terms of training, I’m a great listener. I’m house-trained, leash-trained, and I understand, “no, wait, and sit.” I never chew on anything but my toys and I’ll let you know when I need to go outside. Not to brag, but I’m a pretty smart gal! Even though I love being active, I also really like cuddles, naps, and watching TV... seriously. I’m a great movie buddy and will stare intently at the TV with you. I promise not to interrupt either! I’m a curious pup and I’m always interested in whatever my people are doing. I’ll greet you at the door with lots of love and spunk, and I promise to be your best pal. Even when you’re not home, I’m perfectly content cuddling and playing with my puppy pals. Since I love other dogs so much, my ideal home would be one where I have another furever brother or sister. Since I am a bit shy at first, I need a little patience, but I will learn to love and trust you in no time! I’m loyal, happy, and easy to love. Let’s do brunch and see if I’m the dog for you! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adopt-today ##532266##

Story
We adopted Schultz as a puppy 6 years ago. He had some pretty bad behaviors ie; chewing toys, walking on leash etc. We invested over $1800 in 3 weeks of boot camp training at 10 months old through Snug Pet Resort. Schultz is very well trained, loves his kennel and walks well on leash if using a pinch collar. he knows his commands ie; sit, stay, kennel, heal etc. Schultz can not be around other dogs (or least any dogs we have ever met) or most importantly ANY cats. He seems to not care about our free roam rabbits or chickens but freaks out over the squirrels. He has never harmed any child or adult or appeared to want to do so, but he needs to be given very strict boundaries to keep his training in check. He would be a great running or hiking partner. He is a big love bug but gets super excited yelping/whining when its time for walks which can be disruptive to others in the home. Schultz needs an active lifestyle and to be the only animal in the house and no children.

Story
Cleo is a surrender from her owners who could no longer take care of her. She is a pure bread, 2.5 years old. Cleo is deaf. She was an only dog in her prior home; that coupled with her deafness resulted in extreme separation anxiety. Now in foster care, with a spotted brother and sister, she has blossomed. Due to her deafness, and the history her surrendering family provided us, Cleo will need to be adopted into a home where there are other canine companions and a human home all the time. If left alone, she has severe separation anxiety and barks non-stop. Cleo will also need a home who is patient and willing to train her as her prior owners did not put in any time for basic training due to her deafness; this means her adoptive family will need to learn some basic sign language to assist in her training. She needs a yard for paying and prefers to be inside with family. She is NOT cat friendly with a high prey drive. Story
Gaudi is a beautiful boy, originally rescued by Save the Dals in 2011 (at age 2). Sadly one of his owners passed away (which was a stressful situation for Gaudi), and his other owner is physically incapable of taking care of him now. The family has reached out and asked us to re-home him. Gaudi is now 10 years old, but still very active so don't let his age deter you from considering this loving boy. He is affectionate toward those he knows and trust, however, needs work on socialization when dealing with strangers coming into the home. His forever home would ideally be with an experienced dog owner. We are informed he has some food aggression, so we will not place him in a family with anyone under the age of 18. We believe he prefers to be an only dog (but might possibly do well with a submissive female, although we cannot guarantee this). Save the Dals will pay for getting Gaudi and his foster and/or adoptive family the assistance they need with additional training to address any concerns regarding his food aggression and becoming better socialized with strangers. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN FOSTERING OR ADOPTING GAUDI, PLEASE COMPLETE AND SUBMIT A FOSTER AND/OR ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE WHICH IS LOCATED HERE https://savethedals.org/dals-to-adopt

Story
We adopted Mochi when he was only a month old. A young student found him abandoned on their way to school and put him in their backpack. They told the teacher, who rescued him, and he got the name Mochi as short for "mochila", "backpack" in Spanish. The teacher was trying to find him a home when we met her and we decided to adpot him straight away...that was 10 years ago. Mochi is affectionate, loves a good back-scratch, he'll fetch anything you throw to him, and has a special talent that he can dribble a soccer ball with his paws! Check out this video: http://youtu.be/Dk8mRv5hRYM The reason we're looking for a new home for him is because he's not good with kids. His instinctive reaction is to bark at them which can be intimidating for a child. We have 3 young kids and he is good with them, but we have to put him away when our kid's friends come over which is happening more and more as they get older. We'd like to find him a loving home without kids.
