Story
Nebula is an incredibly smart, sweet dog with limitless energy and limitless potential. She needs an experienced dog owner who is eager to put a lot of work in with her. She is a little over a year old and knows all basic commands as well as a number of specialty tricks. She is highly reactive to cats and dogs as well as joggers (she’s cool with people just as long as they are slow moving) and would do best in a single pet home with owners who have a lot of time for her. Nebula has a lot of personality and potential for anyone who is looking for a dog who can trick train. Nebula is always ready for a new experience and a new challenge and loves to show off and be praised. We found Nebula (most likely dumped) at a park when she was 3 months old. We have been unable to acclimate her to our other dogs or cats and can not continue living in a separated home.

Story
Meet Pop Tart! This gorgeous girl had a rough start with AARF. After spending nearly a month at animal control, she was attacked by her kennel mates at the shelter. Her injuries needed immediate vet care, and she spent the first 2 weeks of her time out of animal control at the vet's office. After battling a bad case of kennel cough and a long recovery from her injuries, Pop Tart is now happy and healthy and ready to find her forever home. Our best guess is that she is a red Doberman / pit bull mix, which means she is incredibly athletic, sweet and snuggly and very loyal. Pop Tart seems to be a little too interested in cats and other small critters, so would do best in a home without small furry friends. She needs an active family, one that up for daily playtime and some adventures! Pop Tart is completely house and crate trained and already knows 'sit' and 'shake'. She loves to play, but also enjoys a good snuggle on the couch in the evening. If you think Pop Tart would be a good fit for your family, fill out an application today! Pop Tart has Paw Pals: Terry and Jean K of Atlanta, GA!

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter, and are a foster-home based organization. Other than meeting our babies at events, we do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.

Story
Hi there! My Angel's name is Damaris; I am a four-year-old Doberman/pointer or shepherd mix. I love other dogs; I haven't met another dog that I didn't like. I love to play, and if you let me, I will play with another dog all day! I am a large dog, I weigh almost 60lbs, I am spayed, crate trained, and house trained, I do need to be let out, and I give subtle hints. I have beautiful long legs and the cutest mismatched ears, one up one down! I am very loving and love to snuggle near you on the couch, or even on your bed if you let me, but I can sleep in my crate if you prefer. But I love ear scratches, and belly rubs the best! I need a lot of exercise, so I need fur siblings and a fenced backyard. These two things are a necessity for me to be the happiest girl I can be! I do pull on my leash pretty hard, but I’m learning not to do that, and proper harnesses really help me relax!  I am so interested in things around me; I want to see and smell it all! Sometimes I bark at people or other dogs walking by, but would never hurt anyone or any other dog; I just want to get to them to play with me! So, I need a strong leader to help me stay focused. I went through training at Tenacity and know basic commands like sit, shake, and down. I have been going to doggy-daycare and I play with all different kinds of dogs, without a problem. I just don't like that darn leash! A little secret: I have been known to walk with my foster's friend and her dog, and I did pretty well! Maybe if you walk me with your fur baby, I will do just fine. I am a gorgeous, sweet girl who needs a loving home and space to run and play. If you would like to meet me, please write to the address below. Story
Topper was rescued from a South Atlanta animal shelter.  She was quite shy the first few days, so we gave her some space and she began to seek us out after about 4 days.  After a few weeks, she follows us and seeks affection.  She is very sweet and silly.  Topper weighs 16 lbs. and looks like a mini German Shepherd.  She will come inside when called for her food and bed time, but she really enjoys playing in the yard with her canine friends.  She loves her dry kibble and is not a picky eater.  She needs to learn to take treats gently though, watch those fingers!  When her foster mom is loving on other dogs, she'll yip and tug your pants leg!  She wants ALL your love, and we are working to correct that behavior.  We only crate Topper when she's eating.  However, we do baby gate her when nobody is home.  Come meet this adorable girl and she'll steal your heart.  When you pick her up, she'll lay her head on your shoulder and melt your heart instantly. Alcovy dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines, up to date on heart-worm preventative and flea preventative and micro-chipped. Story
Rylee is a Min Pin/Chiweenie mix who was given up by her owner because she did not have time for her.  She was delivered in a Rubbermaid tote.  Rylee is 4 years old but is still very much a puppy.  She loves to chew shoes so they must be put in a closed closet.  She is very playful and loves to wrestle with Scout and Topper (also available for adoption at www.alcovypet.com ).  She is quiet in her crate and keeps it clean.  She's affectionate after about an hour with you.  She'll sometimes growl at strangers, but if you sit down with her and talk to her sweetly, she will quickly warm up.  Rylee weighs about 13 lbs.  Her scruffy whiskers are so cute! Adoption fee: $275 Alcovy dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines, up to date on heart-worm preventative and flea preventative and micro-chipped.
