Story
Millie is a sweet energetic all natural blue dobie girl. She is around 1.5 years old and full of puppy enthusiasm. Millie loves to play with other dogs and seems to respect the older pups that don't want to play as much. She also has the curiosity of a puppy so if a dog is on the other side of a fence and she needs to see what's going on, Millie doesn't mind stretching those long legs to peek over and see if she is missing out on fun! Millie is house and crate trained and like all dobies wants to be with her people. Millie is a bit too interested in cats so a no kitty home will be best. Millie will need to go to a home with a fenced in yard.

Story
Chance is a 2 year old black doberman, and based on what he looked like when we got him, it's amazing he is such an easy guy. He's been through a lot, and already looks so much better. Good groceries and a clean environment have been very good for him. A small rescue was notified about Chance laying outside a general store. By the time they got to him he had moved to a field where they found him scared and so thin and full of sores they did not know if he was going to be able to make it. They got Chance to the vet to get checked out. Knowing they did not have the proper resources and time (due to all the other dogs and cats in need in their area) they reached out to BDR for help. Chance is working on housebreaking fully and crate training in his foster home. He is great with cats and people, and word is he is also good with dogs. He seems to just want to hang out with everyone, and will stand near you all day and let you scratch his neck. As easy as Chance has been so far, this guy is going to be a great dog. No doubt due to his past, Chance will do anything for food and his foster home is working to get him to 'sit', especially before he dives into his food bowl. He's at a 'two-second-sit' and will need to learn to be more patient, but for now a 'two-second-sit' is good. The boy has probably spent most of his life hungry and needs to know that he doesn't have to worry about where his next meal will come from. Chance will also need to learn how to take treats more gently, and should not be fed or given treats at this time by young children. Based on his social skills, Chance has probably lived much of his life in a crate. He's had very little training. We're all hoping he escaped from his captors, because they clearly did not treat him well. He's learning very fast in his foster home, but his new family will need to continue slowly and repetitively show him the ropes. He just needs to learn how to 'dog'. He does frighten very easily, and when Chance is frightened, he drops to the ground. It is so hard to watch. He was completely flipped out by the hardwood and ceramic tile floors in his foster home, even after they were covered with rugs. Now, he has learned that he is 'safe enough' if his back feet are on the rugs, and that way he can lean in and reach the cat food ;-) The first night it took half an hour to get Chance up the stairs to his bed, so that feat was new to him, also. But he did it, and he slept very soundly on his bed all night long. He's been sleeping and eating very well since then. Now he happily runs up and down the stairs and over the rugs. His newly-found confidence is adorable. Chance does not like riding in the car, and he immediately drops to the ground when you ask him to get in. His foster home will be working with him on that. Loud noises are also scary, like the sound of the garage door. If Chance could have made a break for it the first time he heard that, he would have. He's better about the garage door now, but not a fan. There are a few small things to work on, but overall Chance's new adopter will have a very nice dog. Story
Teresa (Resa for short) has earned the nickname Sugar because she is just so sweet. Her timid nature took a few days to warm up to her foster family, but now she’s one with the pack. She gets along well with other dogs, seems to be more intimidated the smaller they are! Teresa loves to run outside in open fields. She may do better in a home without younger children, loud noises make her anxious. She’s a GREAT sleeper, fully potty trained, true Velcro dog and decent recall in open spaces. She would make a great addition to a pack or would be a perfect cuddly buddy for someone who was home often. Teresa LOVES getting up first thing in the morning. She will do circles until breakfast is put down for her! She is 2 years old and VERY sweet and does well with all the other animals that she has encountered but she definitely has quite a bit of initial fear with men and people wearing hats, big jackets. She sounds mean, but she's just afraid. Will fall asleep standing up pretty regularly if she's being touched haha. All of our dogs are in foster homes and are available to meet by appointment only and only after an application has been completed. Story
Raven is 2 years old and although a bit shy at first is such a love bug. She’s a typical dobie that wants to be with her people but needs to have a few moments to get to know someone before warming up. Raven is good with dogs and cats and will be fine with a family that has older children. Raven would also be content to be in a nice quiet household being an "only child" and spoiled rotten! She’s starting to come out of her shell and enjoying running around the yard and playing with her toys. If you are looking for a real sweetheart that is only wanting a family to call her own then look no further than Raven.

Story
Wally is a senior boy of unknown age or history. But do not swipe him away just yet. Wally is a very affectionate boy who wants nothing more than to be lazy beside you and help you pet your stress away! Do you have a ball? If so then Wally has some energy he has been storing away for just such an activity. He loves to chase the ball or play tug-o-war. If you need a moment without him, though I can’t imagine why you would, then just give him a bone to chew on and he is occupied for the next hour. This boy can melt you and your family’s hearts and will gladly live out his years as your devoted companion. Wally has no current medical concerns. You will need to monitor his food intake as he is highly food motivated and will eat himself sick if you allow. He is also on a constant dosage of arthritis medication and joint supplements. He is a senior boy after all. Despite his age, we believe he is around 10 years of age, he has no mobility issues and has sustainable periods of active play. He is house broken even though he was found as a stray. To date he has had no accidents and has been given a room to occupy during daytime hours. He does enjoy lounging in a recliner but is also happy to lay down on a rug and relax. Wally can be very stubborn, like most Dobermans, and would thrive best with a human companion who is familiar with the breed and can provide a strongly structured relationship. Wally does well with other dogs of his size and is not confrontational. He will, however, stand up for himself if he is confronted by another dog. This is not surprising considering he was a stray and for a period of nearly a year while under the care of a former family kept outside. He is quick to take to training if you work with him, and have some treats. It will not take much to acclimate him to your routine and lifestyle. This boy is a diamond in the rough, if you will, and deserves his chance to live out his years in comfort and security. He is available today so fill out your application and discover what joy having a senior red boy is all about! (Just start working on your butt scratching technique as he will gladly let you do so for hours on end.)
