Story
Meet Brody! He is a 10 month old pure bred Doberman Pinscher. He is an active playful goofy pup. Everything seems new to him like a child learning things for the first time. He is learning the rules of his foster family. He is a quick learner. He does need basic obedience but does aim to please. He works well for treats ;-) He is good with children and dogs. He is a big boy so would do best with kids 7 and older. Brody loves affection and attention! He likes to follow his foster mom around. Brody is ready to begin his new chapter with his forever family. Story
Tala was born 2014 & we brought her home as a pup from an AKC breeder. We had an older, passive Dobie in the house, but we misread her puppy energy- she was actually very stressed by him. When he passed, she was totally calm & happy. We got a small Dog 2 months later & her stress tendencies returned. She loves being an only dog. She is good with adults & older kids, but is very tense around people with dark skin tones. She is extremely loyal, and we have tried several tactics to keep her calm and happy; long walks on the farm without the other dogs, separate play times & areas, calming supplements, but she is getting more aggressive with the other dogs. She had one litter, and is now spayed. She loves her people, but she is very stressed with other dogs and we feel it isn’t fair to her anymore. She tolerates horses, but doesn’t like cows. In a lone-dog environment, she would be very content. She just can’t handle other animals in the home.

Story
Things we know about Samuel from his foster family: -He appears to be fully house trained!-He's really good in the crate. Wakes up in the night and wines a bit, but with a verbal correction settles back down.-LOVES to play with toys. Plush toys and tennis balls in particular. He also is very content to entertain himself by flinging them around and chasing them (see video). He has not shown any resource guarding around the toys. I've been monitoring the two closely while the toys are out. I'm going to keep feeding them separately for now and will see if there's any guarding around food later this week.-Also loves a cozy dog bed. He does not want to get up onto the couch, but prefers curling up in the dog bed.-He's afraid of a lot of noises - sirens get him riled up. He also has a pretty healthy fear of cars and trucks (not necessarily a bad thing).-He's reactive on leash to any dog we see, even very small ones. My plan is to start working on that this week.-He's not super food motivated, but is very motivated by verbal feedback - both positive and corrections. Overall, he's a really sweet, happy boy. He's easy to have in the house and I think would fit in to most homes Samuel is currently in foster. If you are interested in adopting, please email adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information!Fill out our dog adoption application online at pawscrossedny.orgThe Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Story
We adopted Hudson when he was four months old and have had him for almost 8 years. We have traveled the world with him and lived in several cities, and he has been an amazing part of our family. He is absolutely wonderful with adults and has been a great companion for me and my wife. Unfortunately, he is fearful of other dogs and children and has shown aggression towards them in the past. My wife and I are expecting our first baby soon, and it isn’t safe for my daughter for Hudson to be in our home anymore. Hudson will be an awesome addition to a household without other pets or children. He is incredibly affectionate and will love sitting on the couch next to you or curling up next to you in bed.
