I'm Cali. I'm a shy girl that was found tied up with a collar so small that it was embedded in my neck. I was probably used for breeding, but I was rescued by the best lady and now I'm safe at HADR. I'm the sweetest thing and good with people and other dogs, but it takes me some time to get used to new places and things, so my new family will need to be patient with me. Story
"Ladybird" is a sweet and adorable 1 1/2 year old, female, 55 lbs, Doberman Pinscher/Hound mix.  She is a playful, and energetic girl who is good with some other dogs, as long as they are not going to be a part of "her space"   Although Ladybird does well with other animals with playing, she is especially needy in demanding attention from her owner. If she feels the other animal gets more than her, she becomes very jealous. She came from a home that gave her no attention, and after being here, she has had to work hard for attention since I have three other large dogs. An owner with other dogs or dog would need to give her some time to work through this. It seems she does well with a dominant male, or a very young puppy. Even though  she could do well with another pet, she may just do "best" at being an only dog for awhile. She really needs to know she's "your special baby". One last thing!  I recently had a car full of kittens and cats in crates/and loose occasionally, and Ladybird was interested but had no problem with them!! Now of course grown cats that run will always get chased by a dog. A home with just her as the pet, I believe she would excel!!  All she wants to do is please you!    The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter, microchip, a lifetime registration of the microchip, and sales tax. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
