**ADOPTER CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW**NOT AVAILABLE FOR MEET AND GREET   Animal Profile: Andy is an estimated 1-year-old, 40 lb male Doberman mix with natural ears and tail who we recently rescued from Moreno Valley. Andy is an energetic pup that would enjoy an active family yet can also be calm in his crate or relax on his place cot when needed.  Andy does very well with other dogs and has not had any issues blending in to the pack in his foster home.  Andy is a fun loving guy who is always up for a good time with both his canine friends and his human friends.  He can be fairly aloof when meeting new people in public but also very loving towards his handler, he enjoys affection and will nudge for pets.  Andy has very good leash skills and a solid obedience foundation.  He knows sit, down, wait, come, back up, out, and kennel up.  He also has a fairly solid recall and literally peels out when called back to his handler, he hopes to be treated but also willingly accepts affection as a reward.   Andy has been working with his foster/trainer to change his mindset around food.  Andy is extremely food motivated, very obedient/eager to please and would make an awesome candidate for agility.  Due to his intense food drive Andy will need someone that understands or is willing to learn when to use food and when not to use food during his training in order to avoid conflict. Andy's food aggression erupts primarily surrounding meal time when he is eating from his bowl and is easy to manage.  Andy does not have issue with eating from your hand or taking treats and he has not shown any resource guarding behaviors around the other dogs.  In addition to proper food protocols, Andy would do best in a household that understands the importance of leadership and can continue to provide daily structured engagement activities to encourage a relationship of respect.  Once Andy is adopted, his new handlers will be given an introductory free in home training session by someone on our behavior team so they can learn to upkeep the training he has had and ensure a successful adoption.  Andy can not be adopted in to a home with children but is very well behaved around them.  We just want to be safe considering he is in 'recovery' for food aggression.  I encourage anyone looking at Andy to reach out with any questions, he is a sweet guy that just needs a little extra guidance and will make a wonderful companion for a single person or couple that is willing to learn how to accommodate his needs.      Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $475, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter in California and will be available for adoption in Seattle, once evaluated in a loving foster home in the greater Seattle area.

Story
Animal Profile: Bindi is an estimated 3-year-old 55 lb female red Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail; we have just rescued her from Moreno Valley animal shelter where she was picked up as a stray. She will be arriving to our rescue on Sunday March 15th. More info to come once she arrives and gets settled in! Foster Updates: Wow, what a sweet girl. She has had a rough few years; when she arrived her teets were still full of milk one with mastitis. She has scars on her body that indicate dogs have not been nice to her. Nevertheless, after slow intros to a friendly pack she is doing well. On walks she is alert seeing other dogs but not out of control. More than anything she wants to be with her person or people -- she does not discriminate much; she just wants love. She is house trained and crate trained with no destructive tendencies. She's very mellow and doesn't require a lot of exercise. She is very food motivated, easy to handle, and has never met a stranger. She would do fine in a house with kids *except* her "paw problem" which is an insistent tendency to slap her paw on you (for attention/security). She has made great progress but will need consistency to eliminate this (almost neurotic) behavior. Other than that, she's perfect. She can go to a home with other dogs but they would need to be calm friendly dogs who will help her continue her progress. She would not be a dog that wants to "play" yet....

She has no problem grabbing a toy and throwing it around for herself but loves a good wrestle session too. She’s a sweetheart and so soft and cuddly! Story
Application Review Date: 04/03/20 Animal Profile: NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS Ruby is an estimated 4 month old Doberman/Aussie mix. Ruby and her brother Rexy were rescued from a terrible home situation where they were malnourished and suffering from skin rashes. Ruby is outgoing and always the leader of the litter. She has a sweet personality and is grateful for attention and treats. She arrived in Seattle on 3/27 and we will share more info as we get to know her. Seattle Foster Update: Ruby is doing great and is a confident pup! She’s good in her crate and sleeps well through the night (last night from 11-7). She’s only had few pee accidents in the house. She has LOTS of energy and pulls a lot on leash, but she settles into a rhythm after a couple of blocks. She’s been great at meeting other dogs on leashes and if anything is a bit timid. She's not too fond of "no" and is pretty relentless when she finds something she’s curious about. But she has a very sweet temperament and is really loving. Even with multiple walks a day, and lots of fetching in the hallway, it’s clear she will need a lot more space to run. I think the apartment life has been confusing for her! She’s done great with the cat and knows her sit, stay, and down commands. She’s working on knowing her “place” while we eat, and goes there to play with toys or snooze. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $500, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was owner relinquished and was rescued by 4 Legged Friends Rescue in Texas and transferred via Project Freedom Ride. This dog will be available for adoption in Seattle once evaluated.
