Introducing Mama Theresa JuM
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That an ancient pawverb. Since the humans named me after Mother Theresa, I am feeling it necessary to have my bio start with a teachable moment. Possums are our friends. Repeat. Possums are our friends. Possums eat ticks. Humans and dogs hate ticks. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
I am currently on antibioticks for a tick borne disease called Ehrlichia pronounced errrrlickya. Furthermore, the xray vision photos that Dr G took also revealed more evidents, dents in my past. Tadah you have an old injury on your front right leg and right hip. That explains the limp. No surgery required but I am taking some glucosamine in the hopes that it kinda just glues by bones back together.
Obviously due to that Vet report I have not been living on easy street. I am a sweet loving 4 year old 50 pound Doberman Labrador mix. Dr G even threw out Greyhound as a guesstimutt due to my elegant snout and super lanky legs. Super model mutterial right here.
But wait, there is more, I am a litteral Mother and not in the way of Mother Theresa or Mother Nature. I actually was rescued from Laredo, Texas, along with a brood of 5 gorgeous babies.
Unlike my puppies, I am crate trained and good on leash. I am good around other dogs and humans. In fact, I ADORE humans. I would prefer a home that does not have rowdy playful dogs because I am not too active due to my gimpy legs. I would enjoy a home with a place to relax and an evening stroll with my human or canine pal.
My puppies are now weaned due to their shark teefers. They can eat the hard kibble. I am ready to start my own life. A better life than the one I existed in prior to rescue. My tick disease will clear up with the antibioticks, but my limp shall remain. I am hoping that you and I can make new memories to replace my first 4 years of things that I would rather forget.
Cliff’s Notes:
Mama Theresa JuM- sweet loving female 4yr black Lab/Doberman/Greyhound mix, 50 lbs, did test positive for Ehrilichia and is receiving treatment, has a limp on the right side due to past injuries that do not require further treatment, good with dogs and humans, sweet, not too active due to gimpy legs
GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and are current with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $400 for dogs over a year old, which also includes the cost of transportation to the assigned location. Medical records accompany each dog at the time of delivery and may be emailed to adopter prior to dog arrival if desired.
Microchips will be automatically registered to the new owner after payment of adoption fee. The registration site we use is Michelson Found Animals which is free to use and update during the lifetime of your pet. Please allow 24-48 hours for the new information to appear on the website. God's Dogs will remain as a permanent back up registration for safety sake.
Please visit our website http://godsdogsrescue.org/ for helpful information re: transport, our adoption process and application, volunteering and fostering, and photos of our dogs/pups looking for homes!!
