Story
Boarder collie April 11 5 years Leeloo is a 5 year old, 20lb Boarder Collie and (we think) Jack Russell mix. She is shy but affectionate when given the chance. She is very smart and responds well to vocal commands. She likes to go on short hikes and will usually walk twice as far as you because she's always running ahead but comes back to check on you. Her Boarder Collie side makes her a vocal dog when she is excited or wants something, but it is usually a whine more than a bark. If it does ramp up to barking she has been trained on a bark collar. She is both crate trained and house broken, but it is important to reinforce where you want her to pee when she's in a new place. She will be happiest in a home were she can cuddle with you on the couch, explore a small yard before she wants back in, and can accompany you on short walks. She would prefer to be the only baby (fur or otherwise) but has learned to accept cat and dog roommates.

Story
Dozer is well trained, he loves to run and play. Shakes with both paws, sits. Does love giving kisses with my 10 month old daughter. Don't know about other children yet. He use to love playing with other dogs until we got another dog, he become protective of the other dog and considers them a pack. So some dogs he is totally fine with but then other dogs he is not. The only thing I've noticed is if the other dog growls at him, then it seems to be and issue. Or it could be certain dogs are alfa , in which he is trying to maintain that position when another dog comes around. Other than that he's a very loving dog. He is a hound dog so he loves to chase birds, or cats. So needs to be leashed at all times.

Story
Chief is a big hound-mastiff type dog, about 6 years old. He has a big hound bark but is really quite a good-natured dog.He is friendly with other dogs, though sometimes his enthusiasm might put another male off. Nice on the leash; loves his walk. He was saved from our local animal shelter to avoid euthanasia. He is currently fostered with Redwood Pals and has been wonderful in a home situation! He has some missing hair on his backside from old allergies or neglect but is in good health. He likes to explore the yard lounge on the deck. He ignores the Hounds next door when they start barking and has only barked a few times and those were warning barks for reason. He knows basic commands, sit, down, wait and takes treats from hand very gently. We don't know if he would work in an apartment because of his size but we think Chief would work well in a home.

Story
Handsome Boone is dog-- yes, a great dog! With an eye like an eagle and as tall as a mountain is he. Okay, maybe not as tall as a mountain... Boone weighs in at a much smaller, more practical 63 lb and is only a few feet tall. This is one happy guy, and he`s sure to make your day too! He leans into you for scratches (his shoulder is the sweet spot) and adores going on walks with his human friends at the shelter. What a loveable lug! He also enjoys a game of fetch, but likes chewing on his prize a bit better than bringing it back. Are you ready to take on the frontier with this grand adventurer? Then come meet him! If you are interested in meeting marvelous Boone, please visit https://humboldtgov.org/2658/Animal-Shelter and fill out an application to be pre-approved to make an appointment.
