Story
sadie came into my work to be euthanized because her owner moving out of the country. :( she in good health and she just turned 7 in August so, we know she still has a lot of life left to live we decided to keep her and find her a new, forever owner! Sadie is definitely a shy dog, and the vet hospital environment has been hard on her, but she is getting more confident every single day! she just needs someone to be patient with her while she makes her way out of her shell. Sadie is also EXTREMELY loyal! once she gets to know you she will love and protect you as much as she can. who ever takes her home definitely gets a mini guard dog lol!! she is the perfect lap dog as well and is the best cuddler. Sadie does tend to take a liking to women but we wouldn’t be opposed to adopting her out to a man as long as they would be willing to be patient and earn her trust. it is impossible to not fall in love with this sweet girl! i am asking a vet reference for anyone wanting to adopt.

Story
Chloe is about 12 years old. She’s the most loving dog you’ll ever meet. She’s great with any dog she’s ever met, loves kids and everybody in general. She doesn’t bark, has never had any aggressive behavior (even when she’s clearly not happy with what’s happening, she simply walks away instead of becoming aggressive). She does have arthritis, and we have been working on helping her loose weight, as well as giving her arthritis meds (which only come out to about $33 per month) to help her feel better. She’s already come a long way, but I currently am facing a situation where I will loose my house if I don’t rehome her. I love her to pieces and it breaks my heart to have to do this, but I know she will be a great addition to any family or home. She’s easy going, and just wants to lay and cuddle with you, but does enjoy a short walk every day. I can honestly say I’ve never met a more perfect dog.

Story
Tony, 1 yr., neutered, Queensland mixFor the longest time, I didn't know his mix, definitely cattle dog, blue heeler coat. Then I saw it! He's part Dachshund! He has the head and ear carriage, houndy tail and ice blue eyes too! Tony is about a year old and soooo handsome! He's on the small end of medium. And has crazy ice color eyes, almost white! It's hard not to be hypnotized by those eyes!   Tony was very shy, but curious and sweet. Once I got him well on leash, he was given off leash privilege and oh my dawg he burns up the ground! This is dog that needs a very active buddy and a good amount of exercise. He is so fun to watch! He's great in a crowd!   He is great in a car. Rode loose here in the van with shelter mates, Zula and Olive. And integrated easily into a new pack. Very good with other dogs, and he builds special relationships with the different pack members.   Tony really does need an alpha dog to help his confidence. He sees how much Romeo loves me, and he stands on his back and paws my hands for affection! But if Romeo isn't there, he's tentative. But I don't want to forge a tight bond with Tony, as he does need to do this with his new owner.   Tony is, and he LOVES being a house dog. We're closer and closer. He allows me to pet him all over when he's off leash now, and it used to be, I couldn't touch him until he jumped in the van or was in the house. He voluntarily comes to me or who he knows now. He likes kids. I think he felt safe with young kids. He loves Vicky my volunteer and her teenage granddaughter.   Tony has been here a little while, building up his confidence, and it's time for him to fly. Do you have a dog that needs company? He would be your guy. With one on one time with his people, he'll be the most devoted and reliable dog ever.   Great in my house, he learned to use the dog door. He has no destructive tendencies, although, he'll take your dogs and underwear to his dog bed... I guess this means he likes me? Or I smell like something dead... but he doesn't chew anything up, he just sleeps with them. He's taught me to pick up my dirty clothes though!   Tony knows, he is not allowed in my kitchen or living room, without benefit of door! He learned from the other dogs, do not put a toe over the threshold. Pretty amazing to some, but I expect this. Tony is a little quirky. I feed him by his bed, and he feels more comfortable this way, than eating in the laundry room with the insiders. But outside, he'll eat from any of the self feeders out in the yard.   If I do leave him in the big yard over night, (sometimes, I don't want 5 dogs in the house) he is totally accepting. Grabs a dog loo and I see him in the morning.   Tony is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, micro-chipped, and ready to roll!   Photos updated at: https://www.facebook.com/cchdrescue.org/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2415704571978941   Adoption fee is $300 and includes sterilization surgery, vaccinations, flea & tick abatement, worming, transportation to us, microchipping + chip registration. Story
Panda & Dim Sum, 7 yrs., neutered, AussiesThese two brothers are wonderful, pure bred Aussies. Seven years old. Their owner has had them since they were puppies. They grew up and lived on 5 acres their whole lives. Not allowed in the house, but had each other.   Panda And Dim Sum's owner downsized her life, moved to an apartment... dogs got lucky and got in here.   They had never been around other dogs, so this was an experience! They made some faces and Panda bluff charged poor Tony, who only wanted a sniff or two. Stopped the charge with verbal correction, and didn't repeat.  The pack really isn't interested in a dog that isn't up for socializing. They spent the night in their own kennel run. The next day, everything is totally relaxed. They are taking it all in stride.   Happy to see me and the volunteers today! I swear these dogs just got no attention and they are liking it! Very sweet and polite boys! So nice to see who they really are!   They are loose in the big yard... but it's not five acres. So pack hiking is in the very near future. When I met them, in Monique's car, (never a great place to meet a dog). But they were very  good for me. I looped a leash over each's head, from the front seat while they stood on the back seat of the car. Btw,  I was told me they rode without a problem in the car, loose, with her young daughter in the front seat.   I had both on leash, and they pull pretty good. But they follow me when they are not on leash. I was told they ignored other people. But once they got here, I pet Dim sum as he invited it, and Panda shoved his muzzle under my hand for his share. Monique, had been showing their home for months, said she'd not seen them so willing and friendly before.   I feel these two would be great on a good sized property. Probably fine with kids. And another dog is fine.   I have no knowledge of their experience with cats, they haven't been around any.   Would be nice if the adopter wants a couple dogs to love and bond with. They already are showing me they would love the attention. Left to their own devices, they are really good dogs. Quiet, non destructive, and they adore each other and keep one another company.   These boys are strictly being re-homed together.   Photos updated at: https://www.facebook.com/cchdrescue.org/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2548628308686566   Adoption fee is $300 for the pair and includes vaccinations, flea & tick abatement, worming, transportation to us, microchipping + chip registration.
