Story
Personality: Shy, Sensitive & Sweet Size: 12 lbs Age: 2 Years Old Brie is a special little gal with adorable quirks and a snuggly warm heart at her core. She is quite timid and fearful of new things; she needs a mellow, patient home that will let her go at her own pace, and respect her comfort level and her limits. She is in foster with a medium size dog and cat and adores them both. She'll do best in a home with a friendly, confident dog that can help her along the way. She loves to cuddle. She loves to sprint back and forth in the living room, leaping over things. She likes mealtime. She jumps vertically with glee when it's time for a walk. As much as she indicates that she loves walks, she still becomes fearful throughout every walk - tail tucked, bursts of running, cowering, frantic head movements. She will freeze every so often on walks and needs coaxing to move forward. In a more busy environment she may be more fearful. A harness and martingale collar should be used at all times. She will likely never become an outgoing, confident dog; that doesn't change the fact that she has so much love to give, and will bring so much joy to the right person. Brie is microchipped, spayed and current on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $110. Please contact us at adoptions@hstt.org if you are interested in knowing more about Brie and our current adoption process.

Munchkin

Labrador Retriever German Shepherd Dog

Male, Adult
Tahoe City, CA
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Munchkin has a sweet soul and loves his humans with his whole heart. He loves hiking, chasing the ball and playing in the snow but his absolute favorite activity is swimming. He is his content to lounge around when you are around but he is happiest when he is outdoors with his humans. He is the neighborhood's favorite dog as everyone loves to play with him. Munchkin has been a great dog but we are no longer able to give him the life he deserves. Work and travel schedules are such that he is now forced to spend many days alone and that isn't fair to him. We are hoping in his next home he is able to spend most days with his new humans and has someone who loves to play with him outdoors.

Story
Zeus is about three years old, he is neutered and caught up on all his shots. Zeus is a loving sweet dog and he does well with other dogs. He is sometime protective on leash and in the car. His owner passed in 2018 and I have been fostering him on and off since then. I posted him on Craigslist in 2019 and he went to a new home in grass valley for about six months. I guess their landlord said they could not have him and they took him to the pound I picked him up from the pound in the beginning of December and have had him since. I live in kings beach and my apartment complex will not allow me to have two dogs. I have a boarder collie lab mix I adopted from the human society in 2015 and they get along great. My landlord is letting me keep him till I find him a new home. I don’t want to take him to the shelter because I’m scared he will be stressed and not eat. He is like a family member to me and I would love to see him go to a good home.
