Story
NASH is a fantastic companion. He is a healthy boy who loves to hike and play with other dogs. He was originally left behind on a property when the owners moved out and never came back for him. Neighbors would feed him and he lived alone for months. After being able to be picked up by animal control and no owners claimed him, a good Samaritan reached out to us to help get Nash rescued and adopted. He is easy going and very friendly. His ears are amazing and he likes to stick out his tongue. It is so funnty and cute! We fully vetted Nash. When we rescued him we had no available foster home so a kind rescue supporter offered to cover his boarding at a really great doggy daycare. He plays with 40 doggies at this fun place for dogs and he has a blast. One of the trainers who worked with Nash says "Nash is one other the smartest dogs I have ever worked with". We know NASH's forever family is out there somewhere and we hope he will get adopted and be loved forever because he deserves it. NASH is currently being fostered in Georgia but will happily make his way to the northeast via our vehicle dog transport (included in the adoption fee) to an approved adopter. For an active young dog like Nash we prefer adopters not have children under 8 years old in the home. For NASH to thrive in a forever home, we are looking for a family who will show this shy boy the ropes and guide him through the changes that come with adapting to a new home.A home with another friendly and confident dog would be best for NASH. He loves and thrives with the company of other dogs. He loves direction and listens to his humans. Having confidence and excited leadership skills will help NASH know you love him and will keep him safe.

Story
Meet Jax. This handsome fella is very sweet and has super high energy! He is going to need a fenced yard with plenty of room to run and play.  He is good with most other dogs but will most likely chase cats. Small children will get knocked down in a hurry because of Jax energy level. Jax is a great dog but is still young and working with him to learn commands and proper behaviors will be necessary. Patience required!! :) You can apply to adopt Jax by filling out an adoption application at www.myhstc.org/dogs and scrolling to Jax's profile. If you have questions about Jax you can email sandrawheeles@yahoo.com. ##39070##

Story
This sweet boy is Monty - he is quite an usual looking mixed breed.  From the neck up, he looks like a rottweiler.  From the neck down, he looks like a basset hound.  Does that make him a Bassetweiler?  A Rotthound?  Who knows?  But what we can tell you is this guy has personality plus.  He is fun and goofy and affectionate, everyone who meets him loves him.  Monty likes to go for walks and generally be where ever the people are.  He loves kids and he is good with most other dogs but he has never been around cats.  Monty is up to date with shots, neutered, negative for heartworms/on prevention and crate trained.  To make Monty your forever dog, please submit an adoption application at www.myhstc.org Adoption fee is $85 which includes veterinary care we prescreen all applicants prior to a meeting.  To be screened, you may submit an adoption application at www.myhstc.org ##603065##

Story
This is Minnie (formerly Jesse)-she is one of a litter of 7 puppies rescued from underneath a trailer when she was a baby-her mother was a pure bred Am Staff (we do not know what the father was but he must been smaller, had white coloring and longer fur). Minnie was adopted as a young puppy to a family that loved her but had to sadly return her as they were no longer able to take care of her. Minnie is a super sweet, smart and loving dog. She knows some basic commands and is just a great all around dog-she is good with all male dogs, submissive female dogs and likes and has lived with kids (untested with cats). She is spayed, current on shots, on heartworm prevention and crate trained. She is 10 years old. To adopt Minnie, you may read our adoption criteria and submit an adoption application at www.myhstc.org or email us for more information. All applicants are screened prior to a meeting. ##2536##
