Story
Here are the most important things to know about Doughboy, according to his former family: "Dough is a lover. He loves treats and car rides and walks. He's a wonderful snuggler." Doughboy's owners entrusted us with finding him a great new home when they found themselves unable to keep him, and as you can see by his big hopeful eyes, Doughboy's wondering if that home might be yours. Here at the shelter we've found that Doughboy really is a lover. He might not have met you yet, but he just knows you'll be friends. Offer treats and petting, and in moments he'll literally be eating out of the palm of your hand. Positive-reinforcement training is a great way to bond with your new dog, and since Dough loves treats he'll be a fun dog to train. He already sits, shakes and goes to his cage (his word for his crate) on command. You can enjoy teaching him the joys of loose-leash walking - right now we recommend a harness, because he's so eager to keep moving - as well as the rest of his basic commands. With a history of living happily with children who were eight and older, we think Doughboy could be a great family dog. We'll have you bring everyone here to the shelter to meet him and ensure it's a match. Dough's not a fan of male dogs, but he's shown himself to be more comfortable - albeit sometimes a bit too enthusiastic - with female dogs, and could go home with one if they have the right chemistry. To be sure things start off on the right paw, we'll do their first introduction here at the shelter, as well. We don't know what he thinks of cats, but if you have cats at home, your counselor can give you tips on the best way to introduce them. Do you think you could be the one to make Doughboy's dreams of a new home come true? Why not come on out to Lollypop Farm to meet him and all our available dogs? We'd love to see you here and maybe even send you home with a brand new family member.

Story
Cowboy was rescued a year ago from a shelter that got him from Puerto Rico. They didn’t have much information on him besides he was returned once already for hip dysplasia. I adopted him and he has been a gem. He doesn’t like dogs when on a leash, I don’t know besides that. He likes to lay in the sunshine and hang outside in the warmth. Strangers are something he needs to warm up too, when it comes to in the home. He does better with a male owner then a woman. He would love a yard where he can run and play fetch, he’s not amazing at giving the ball back afterwards but he loves to run. He knows his name, how to sit, down, and touch. He’s working on spinning in circles.

Story
He may only have one eye, but Clint can see a bright future with you! 4-year-old Clint is a smart guy who already knows how to sit, stay, lie down, come, and roll over. Positive-reinforcement training is a great way to bond with a new dog, especially one who's as food-motivated as Clint, so you can have a lot of fun teaching him all kinds of fun tricks in exchange for treats. Meaty snacks are his favorite! Another thing Clint enjoys? Long walks to burn off energy. He loves to put on his harness and go. Are you a runner? Even better! He's used to going running around Cobbs Hill Park, and we think he'd love to explore more of the area's many beautiful green spaces by your side. One thing Clint doesn't enjoy? Other animals. He should be your only pet so he can soak up all your love. He's very friendly with people, though. Just give him a few minutes to say hi, offer some nice treats or maybe play a game of tug, and he's a friend for life. Though he hasn't lived with children, he did well with kids who came to visit, so we'd like him to meet the whole family here at the shelter before heading home. Clint is winking at you as a hint that you should take him home! Why not give him a chance?

Story
Handsome 5-year-old King is in search of a new kingdom! This sweet, wiggly boy loves people and enjoys getting pets. A King deserves to be pampered, after all! King was a stray, so we're not yet sure how he does with children or other animals. We will help introduce him to all human and canine members of the family here at Lollypop, and give instructions for cautious introductions to any cats at home. If you'd like to be King's loyal subject, please come meet him soon! Found on March 7, 2024 in the area of South Avenue and Caroline Street, Rochester, New York.
