Story
Addie A darling 2 year old 16 pound Yorkie 04/17/2019 Pupdate Addie continues to do well on her seizure medication, and is more accepting of her foster brothers and sisters. She is such a sweetheart. She needs a quiet home where she can just be herself. She needs an understanding and patient heart full of love for fur babies. Can you take care of me and love me like I deserve to be loved and cared for??? Update 3/6/19 - Miss Addie is doing very well. She is almost completely potty trained. Just a few oops here and there that we are working on. Addie has begun coming out of her shell and showing her personality a little more. Such a loving and sweet girl. She is looking for a patient owner that will work with her, love her and understand her. She says, "Will you love me and allow me to love you? Foster Mom and Dad are cool and all, but I am looking to get settled into my forever home." If you have questions, please contact my foster mom at uyrfostermom@yahoo.com Update 2/13/2019 - Addie came to us last week after being on the streets for an undefined amount of time, and she is absolutely adorable. Although she sounds a little vicious when playing, she is a doll baby. Now that she is settled in and on her seizure medication, her seizures are subsiding. Though she must stay on medication the rest of her life, the seizures are under control now. Miss Addie is looking for a forever home full of love and understanding. Addie is a sweet baby, and would do well in a home with older children, either with tolerant dogs or being an only child. For more questions, contact foster mom at uyrfostermom@yahoo.com. This little girl was seen along the side of the road in Corpus Christi for weeks until a real lover of animals stopped and picked her up. She reached out to UYR due to the dire needs of the little lady. She had two injured legs with signs of seizure activity and was obviously unkempt. Guesses were made if she was thrown hit by a car, run over;.we will never know. Many members worked together to get Addie to her intended foster mom in Fort Worth, TX. First visit was to an orthopedic vet. He took x--rays, blood and really looked her over. It seems her front leg was crushed in many places and was healed-all wrong. X-rays indicated these injuries occurred long ago. She has learned to walk with her leg at an angle and her pad is worn in the wrong place. She was heart-worm negative, but has 3 kinds of intestinal worms. She hates the medication, but in 10 days it should be but a memory.. Now for the seizures. I understand she had tremors all the time when stressed, then would have a small seizure a few times a day. Since starting her medications yesterday, I have seen no tremors or seizures! Her forever parents should be made aware she will need medication three times a day for life. After having to scrounge for food for weeks, she shows a lot of food guarding. I am sure once she trusts me to bring food when needed, she will stop this behavior. You would think this little one would be complaining all the time but she only tells you when she needs to go out. She needs to be stabilized on her medications and,she must be continue to observed by foster mom and vet to determine if a any treatment will benefit your leg. She may need to be spayed before she is ready to meet her forever parents - vet not sure after initial observation

Story
Hi, my name is Pearl. I am currently being fostered in Houston, TX. I am about 10 - 11 months old and weigh about 50 pounds. I am a sweet young lady with lots of energy. I love to play with the other fostered dogs here. Sometimes I get a little too excited when playing. I think some of this is due to my young age and also due to the fact that I was found with a homeless man who did nothing with or for me. I was so hot, thirsty and hungry when Sherrille loaded me up in her vehicle. Sherrille took me to a Vet Clinic. I was a little unsure about it at first but what a difference it makes to get a bath, some cool accommodations, food and water. I also got my vaccinations, spayed and tested negative for heart worms. All I can say is life is good! I am currently staying with Sherrille and her other fostered dogs. This is a great place but I would really like to have my own human or human family. I want to be part of a family, I want to belong. If you think you could be that human or human family and want to meet me in person, please text or call Sherrille @ 281-706-0242. She can answer any questions you may have about me. I am looking forward to meeting you soon, Pearl

Story
Hi, My name is Molly. I am currently in the Houston, TX area. I am an incredibly sweet girl who is about 1 year old. I was given to a homeless couple who could not care for me. Luckily they were able to give me to a friend of theirs, Sherrille who has a rescue group. Being a stray, I am not sure what breed(s) I am. I am thinking maybe Lab and Pointer Mixes. Sherrille is fostering me and tells me that I am so smart for such a young girl no matter what I am. I have not had any accidents in her house, I love sleeping in my crate and running around the play yard playing with my new friends. So far I have managed to have good house manners. This is a great place but I would really like a family or human of my own. A family or human who can give me attention, petting, play time, teach me the ropes, have patience with me and maybe enroll me in an Obedience and Behavioral Class. My adoption fee is $150.00. If you think you could be that family or human, please text Sherrille @ 281-706-0242 or Penny @ 713-824-2737 or email @ pennykbryce@gmail.com I will be looking forward to meeting you soon!

Story
Hi, my name is Rusty. I am a handsome fellow who is a German Shepherd mix. I think I am at least 3 years old. I am up to date on my vaccines, neutered and heart worm negative. I am currently being fostered in East Texas about 30 minutes north of Nacogdoches, TX. I found myself abandoned in Houston, TX during Hurricane Harvey. I was pretty scared and admit I was not very cooperative with those who were trying to help me get to safety. I am looking for a family or human who will have lots of patience with me. I am still a little scared when I meet new people and especially new dogs. I like people but just need to know that I can trust them. I also can get a long with other dogs who are calm and submissive. I need a family who will love me, not make me a backyard ornament, play with me and never abandon me. I like to run around the yard and chase balls and rope toys. I can sit and shake. If you would like to meet me, please contact Penny by texting or calling her @ 713-824-2737 or emailing her @ pennykbryce@gmail.com Looking forward to hearing from you soon, Rusty
