Story
Poppy's my name, and having fun is my game! Running, romping, tugging on toys, I want to do it all! I’m a 70 lb, approx two-year-old Pittie/Boxer and I’m looking for a home who can be patient with my puppy energy and goofiness. I do very well in a crate and am potty trained if you stick to my schedule. I need repetition to learn (my previous family abandoned me and never taught me the things I should've learned as a young pup), but I am very affectionate and will respond to loving and security. I do have an issue with eating stuff; I will snag your food if you aren't watching and I have a sock habit that I need to break, My family will have to be very aware and clean up after themselves! I love to play with my doggy foster siblings; I chase cats but never hurt them. I'm pretty good on a leash, but need more experience to be at my best! I'm just about as loyal as they come in this doggy dog world. My ideal home would be one where I can be loved on, cared for, and trained to be my best self. I was heartworm positive when rescued, but finished my last treatment at the beginning of November, My foster family has been focused on getting me healthy, but my foster mommy had an accident that made it hard for her to do a lot of work with me (and my foster daddy has been taking care of foster mommy). I am a very good high energy girl with a lot of love to give. I have room in this big ol’ heart for you now! Wanna go for a ride in the car? I call shotgun! Grab some ice cream? I’ll bring the sprinkles! Prefer more outdoorsy things? Cool, I’ll trot alongside you all up and down those river trails! Wanna lay low today? No problem, I make an excellent foot warmer at the end of the bed. Really, I just wanna be by your side. I am spayed, housetrained, and have had all my vaccinations. So, what do you think, got a little room in your life for a new right-hand lady? Let’s meet! Email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.com!
