Story
Meet COCHA! Cocha is a stunning and fabulous 7 yr old senior who is visually/hearing impaired (she’s not completely blind nor deaf). She was not born this way but it is coming on with age unfortunately for her. Cocha is currently located in SC and is coming to us as an owner surrender, due to no fault of her own. She has only known an outdoor kennel as home for the most part of her life. She is a retired hunting dog eager-to-please and very well behaved! Cocha says she wants to spend her silver years laying on a couch binging Netflix and getting all the attention possible! Cocha loved hunting and was good at it but today she is ready for retirement life! We believe that she will need in-home training but due to her brilliant nature we also believe this will be a quick adjustment for her. The rescue will offer some great ideas to make sure she picks up quickly so she can accimate to in-house life. We are looking for a foster or adopter home to help start her next chapter. A home with disability experience while she learns how to become a true inside family member is great but not a requirement. Cocha would be a good dog for someone that likes to go on short walks and may or may not have a yard. We do suggest a home without stairs and obstacles would be preferred as well. She gets around fine but it is always something to consider with dogs in the silver years! Although we’ve been told that she is okay with other dogs, we don’t feel comfortable risking it at this time. Moving to a new home is going to be a big change for her so she may want to be an only dog. 😍🐾 Cocha is still with her owner and will be until we find someone able to open their home for her. She is up to date on shots but currently is not spayed, however that will change once we find a home to move her to. Please consider fostering and know that the rescue covers medical costs during this time should there be any. Fosters helps us learn a lot about the dog so we can find the right home! Fosters also have the first option to adopt should the they fall in love and want to make their foster dog part of their family! This girl is begging for a new home and comfy bed to call her own! Please fill out her foster application here if you have a space in your home/heart for her. 🙏🏼👇🏼 https://v3.petstablished.com/pets/public/574561?awo=DC+Dogos%2C+Inc&widget=false

Story
I adopted Sampson from Pet Helpers on James Island 4 years ago. He is just shy of 5 years old. He is full of so much love and is a very well behaved dog. About two years ago he started to pick fights with my other dog which has resulted in a couple of vet visits. We recently had a baby and after this last fight we do not feel it is safe for her to be in a home with his unpredictable behavior. Sampson loves children, however he is very food motivated so I am not sure if it is best for him to be in a home with small children. Sampson knows the basic commands and could use a tab bit of help with leash training. He is kennel trained and housebroken. He is a big ball of love and just wants to give all of his love away.
