Update: 11/9/16: We can not believe Mikey has been with us for so long. This boy really would like to find his forever home. He is an energetic guy that truly loves everyone he meets. He would love a very active family who can keep him busy and running. Please send us an app if you would like to finally give this boy the home he deserves Update 12/19/14: Mikey has been with us for so long!!!! He really wants to go home. He is about a year old now, housebroken, and a great dog - he gets along with all others he meets. Mikey is very energetic and would do best with a fenced yard and playmates so he doesn't get bored! Posted 4/8/14: Mikey is approx. 3 1/2 months old and appears to be a Chihuahua mix. He is so adorable! He loves to play and loves people! Mikey and his pal, Maksim, also love to lay on the back of the couch and cradle their heads around their foster Mommy's neck while she watches TV. How cute is that?! Wouldn't you love to open your home & your heart to such a special, little boy?! Adoption fee is $300 and includes vaccines, dewormings and neuter. A homecheck is required to adopt! Please e-mail sheplover5@aol.com if you would like an application to adopt or download an application from our website at www.foreverhomerescue.com.

Transport, if needed : $140.00 We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip from Alabama. Story
When Bella's owner passed away, she found herself dumped at a shelter. She was terrified and couldn't understand why no one wanted her anymore. She's just looking for someone to love and gets very attached to people who show her kindness and affection. 8 year old Bella has a hip and joint problem which means she can't walk very much, although she can support herself for short periods of time and when she goes out. She spends most of her day sleeping on her bed. She is excellent about "holding" it until you carry her outside and only needs to go out about three times a day - morning, late afternoon, and right before bed. Although she probably won't ever be your hiking buddy, she's a great snuggler. She sleeps through the night and has no other health issues. She's usually very quiet and well-behaved but will alert you when you have visitors at the door. She has lived with both dogs and bunnies and is great with both (as long as they don't steal her food!) Can you find it in your heart to let Ms. Bella in? If interested in Bella, please complete an application which can be found at www.seniordoghaven.org. Any questions can be sent to info@seniordoghaven.org. Please note because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to schedule a meet until we receive a completed adoption application.

Story
Dorothy is a 10 year old Chihuahua who landed at a local shelter after being found as a stray. The shelter was concerned about her heart and what they thought was a high grade heart murmur so they reached out to us to see if we could help her out. Once we saw that adorable face, who could say no? Dorothy is full of spunk and sass! When she wants some love and attention (or food), she will give her foster Mom a few barks and sometimes if her foster Mom doesn’t acknowledge her quick enough for Dorothy’s like, Dorothy has been known to run up to her and lightly head butt her in the leg! She currently lives with dogs of all sizes and has no problem with any of them. It is a must that she be separated from other animals in the house at feeding time because she loves food and becomes quite protective of it. Because of the concern with her heart, we took her to a cardiologist who confirmed that her heart is not as bad as originally thought. She does have mild leaky valves, typical for older Chihuahuas but she does not require any medication right now. She also has a wobbly sashay when she walks due to disc disease in her spine, It actually makes her every more adorable and doesn’t seem to bother her at all. We have started her on an anti-inflammatory and pain medication just as a precaution and to see if it helps her get around with more ease. She doesn’t let this slow her down at all though and gets around just fine. At some point, the disc disease may progress so she might need a little more assistance but she is a pretty self-sufficient and determined little girl! Dorothy is, for the most part, house broken. If she cannot get outside on a regular basis, she will use pee pads. If interested in Dorothy, please complete an application which can be found at www.seniordoghaven.org. Any questions can be sent to info@seniordoghaven.org. Please note because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to schedule a meet until we receive a completed adoption application.

Story
Winky is ready to start looking for her new home. Winky was found on the streets in TX with another dog and both were pregnant. A kind lady took them in but was unable to keep them so she had to turn them over to a shelter in her area. We were able to pull both dogs into the rescue and now it's Winky's turn to have a family of her own. She is a very sweet little girl. She does well with the other dogs in the rescue but she does enjoy chasing the cats. She is current with her vaccines and she has been spayed. She is current with her flea and heartworm prevention. She tested negative for heartworm and she has been microchipped. Please email me at wrenrobin23@gmail.com with any questions or if you would like an application. Thank you
