Age: 11 months (as of 3/30/20) Weight: 21 lbs (as of 2/23/20)    This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.   Delta Dawn is a playful girl! She is also affectionate and gentle.  We are thinking she is a Feist and Terrier mix. If you aren’t familiar with Feist’s they are a small hunting dog found primarily in the southern US. Dawn loves playing with other dogs but does tend to play rough sometimes.  Her foster mom says she plays hard and rest frequently! She is ok with cats and wants to be their friend.  We don’t know how she is with kids but suspect she will be ok as she is so gentle and even tempered. She is a quiet girl but you might hear her bark when playing.  Looking for a walking, running, or hiking partner?  If so, Dawn is the dog for you! She is calm in the car and walks great on the leash.  She is fully crate trained but does need work on housetraining. Delta Dawn is a warmhearted happy girl who just wants a loving forever home. Unfortunately these dogs are the product of a broken home, the pet parent that was closest to them and was a stay at home parent, could not take them when they moved out. The dogs are now subject to a very different schedule that does not include enough time to devote to them. They have been together since they were young but can probably be separated now. The Feist is older and is quiet and would be good with probably anyone. The Portuguese Podango however needs special attention. She is a very good watch dog, which is to day she likes to make you aware that there is something going on outside. She would probably do better with a non-busy/farm/bucolic area where there is not as much activity to stimulate her. I think she would make a good herder or sheep dog.
