Story
In the short time that Skye has been with her foster mom, she has really blossomed. When she first came to rescue, Skye was very scared and afraid. Her owner was put into a nursing home and there was no one left to care for her. Understandably, she was nervous and unsure of what was happening. But, with a lot of love and patience from her foster mom, she is starting to wag her tail and ask for affection (she loves scratches and soft pets). She does fine with the resident dogs (with a proper introduction) and is house trained and kennel trained. Skye will need a patient forever home where they will allow her to continue to get her confidence back. We just know that her perfect home is out there. Is that maybe your home? Story
Hi! My name is Lafayette .. but my foster family calls me Laffy (they tell me I'm a silly girl). I am a feisty redhead that will keep you entertained. I love playing with other dogs and with my person. I love food!! It's needed as I am an active lady, I can jump 4 feet into the air! There's this thing called a frisbee that I want to try, maybe with my new family. I do know how to ""kennel up"" and its my safe place when I want time alone.I came from a not so great situation and at first I didn't trust humans.. you lot can be a bit overwhelming but I'm a tough chihuahua and I didn't back down from the challenge. I'm glad I didn't because now I know that people mean good things, like butt and neck scratches (my FAVORITE), food and treats and I like giving kisses in gratitude.I like other dogs, if you have a dog that is younger, my size'ish and wants to play.. that would be so much fun!To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website, www.LongWayHomeAdoptables.org and click the adopt tab!Our adoption fee is $200 for dogs, $100 for cats, and it includes spay/neuter, all vaccines, heartworm testing, fecal testing, deworming, flea/heartworm prevention, and a microchip. Story
If you are looking for a sweet, laid back older gal to curl up and binge watch your favorite TV show with, look no further than Nova. Nova loves her kennel and knows how to potty outside (she is older so she will need frequent trips or maybe a potty pad on the floor if you are gone for long periods of time). She does fine with other animals after she’s had some time to warm up. Her only “demands” are soft blankets to lounge on. She loves nothing more than tussling around in a blanket before bedding down to take a nap. Nova is curious and likes to follow her foster mom around to see what she is doing too. If you think you may be the right fit for her, get your application in now.To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website, www.LongWayHomeAdoptables.org and click the adopt tab!Our adoption fee is $200 for dogs, $100 for cats, and it includes spay/neuter, all vaccines, heartworm testing, fecal testing, deworming, flea/heartworm prevention, and a microchip.
