Story
Marceline is a gorgeous, active girl. She came to the MCHS after going unclaimed at the city pound. She is smart and powerful and would definitely benefit from an experienced owner who can give her the training, exercise, and stimulation that she needs. She is not a dog for a couch potato lifestyle. She would do best as the only dog in the home. We don't know how she is with cats and have no way of finding out.. Her adoption fee is $125. Marcy is now 5-6 years old. She would be an easy dog to train as she learns very quickly. She would do best in an adult only home. Teens are fine. We do think that she would benefit from a securely fenced yard. This gorgeous girl has been with us far too long! We are open on Sundays from 2-4 and Tuesdays from 4:30-6. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Dawson came to the shelter from the city pound after no one claimed him. He appears to be 1-2 years old and is a typical young and very energetic dog. He is a mixed breed guy and one of the many black dogs with white chests that we've taken in recently. Dawson loves everybody that he meets but does need to work on his approach a little. He can be a little bit like the Kool Aid man when he enters a room. He brings the fun!  Dawson will need to be vet checked and neutered before adoption and his fee is $125.  Dawson will need basic obedience training. He is pretty energetic and strong and might be a little too much for really young kids. We don't yet know how he is with other dogs and have no way of testing with cats. We are open on Saturdays from 10-11:30, Sundays from 2-4, and Tuesdays from 4:30-6. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport, behind Spectrum.  It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm preventative/testing, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Liam is a 3-4 year old black lab type dog who came to us through one of our rescue friends. He was originally found on a Reservation alone and emaciated. He was nursed back to health by a local shelter and then transferred to us in order to give him a better chance at being adopted. Liam is a typical lab and is very outgoing and enthusiastic. He is considered a medium size dog and weighs around 51 pounds. He does have a lot of energy and needs basic training. He has been fully vetted, chipped, and his fee is $125. Liam will require regular exercise to burn off his excess energy. He does need training. He loves people but might be a little too much for really young kids. He has done well with other dogs as long as they stay away from his food. We don't know about cats. We are open on Saturdays from 10-11:30, Sundays from 2-4, and Tuesdays from 4:30-6. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport, behind Spectrum. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
