Story
My friends, let me tell you about a dog named Joe. I don't want to repeat what happened to Joe in his early life, so our story picks up when he was 2. When I met him, Joe was so scared, so cowed, that he didn't bark and wouldn't let anyone touch him. But when I looked into his eyes, I saw him trying to tell me something. And that thing was "I am a dog. I can forgive. Will you take a chance on me? So...I did. We started out small - just some 5-minute training sessions. Joe had never had a chance to learn things or be with others, but he was game to try. Then I discovered a secret! Joe *loved* roast chicken. Boy, he learned so quick after that! Pretty soon he learned all your basic commands and I saw the old Joe slipping away. After 6 months, a new confident Joe had taken his place. These days, Joe lives with his family - his dog and cat buddies and his human pack (old and young) that he loves to pieces. He excels in advanced obedience skills. He goes swimming and to the dog park. He is a dog again. He is happy. Why am I telling you this story? Because Bradley reminds me so much of Joe (they even look like each other). Bradley recently returned from a foster so we got the chance for a little glimpse of who he could be. Like Joe, Bradley is a sweet boy underneath his nerves. Like Joe, Bradley wants to make friends. Like Joe, Bradley loves treats. And I think if you look into Bradley's eyes you will see him trying to tell you the same thing Joe had to tell me. Bradley loves to get pets when things are calm and he comes with a bag of pet supplies! You can Name Your Own Price to adopt him. Are you that special human who could change his whole world? Come meet Bradley today. **This dog was seized from a large commercial dog breeding operation by the USDA due to conditions in the facility. Most of these operations confine animals to small kennels for the majority of their time with little or no access outdoors. They did not receive socialization with people and other animals, housetraining and leash walks that most house pets have during critical developmental windows and will require significant remedial training and support to live successfully as a pet. With a very slow and careful approach to providing new experiences and consistent training, they may adjust well to a calm home environment but may not ever adjust to off-leash walking, dog parks, hikes, and other pet-friendly activities that may overwhelm them.**

Story
Bradley spent the first part of his life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. He transferred to HSU for his second chance after being seized by the USDA due to the conditions in which the dogs were being kept. Bradley is currently in a foster home where he has been crate and house-trained. He really enjoys the other dog in the foster home. Bradey can get startled by new things and sometimes needs time to know he's safe when he meets someone new, but he really wants to trust people and is making great progress! This sweet guy is learning how great life can be. He wags his tail when his foster parents say his name, greets them happily, and makes eye contact with them. Bradley loves to be petted when things are calm, run around the yard, and play with other dogs. He also enjoys treats; they help him feel more comfortable when facing a new situation. He's still unsure about getting into cars, but he seems to enjoy the ride. This is where you come in! Bradley has been waiting 50+ days and really needs the consistency of adoption and plenty of time to adjust to his new life. Foster homes are wonderful, but they're temporary. He's ready to learn with you. He comes with a bag of pet supplies! You can "Name Your Own Price" to adopt him. Are you that special human who could change his world? Make an appointment to meet Bradley! Email Foster@UtahHumane.org or call (801) 506-2411.

Story
Birdie is a very sweet and loving 5 year old shorthair pointer. We found her as a lost 9 month old pup. the owners didnt have time for her. We took her in and she stole our hearts! She loves snacks and hanging around the house. Her favorite thing to do is to snuggle into the blankets and watch a show with you! She is great with kids and adults. she gets along with most dogs except our female pointer, who is about the same age. Birdie loves car rides and going out on hikes or to the lake.
