Story
Nolan came to Dakin from South Carolina. His foster family says he is good with dogs, kids, and even horses!! He is a playful boy who likes to go, go, go - until naptime. If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.

Story
Dixie is a super sweet pup needing a good home! She will be a year old at the end of the month. Our busy schedules have gotten in the way and we can't dedicate the love and attention to her anymore. We hate to rehome her, but we don't want to take her to a shelter. She has all of her shots up to date, but we haven't got her spayed yet. She would make the perfect companion to anyone looking for a great pet! We will have her crate and toys that come with her! Thanks for your interest and we hope we can find her a great new home!
