Story
Please note, we are a Texas based rescue that transports our pups once they are adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes, so much is known about their temperament, training level and personality. We know adopting a dog sight unseen can be daunting, so we are happy to share additional videos, photos and even let you Facetime with the pup. We are primarily an equine rescue, but do assist with a small number of dogs annually. We are happy to provide references from previous adopters if needed. Thank you for wanting to adopt! I am a most adorable designer dawg hybrid mix of Australian Shepherd and Golden Retriever.....also known as a Australian Retriever. According to Wikipedia; " This is a medium to large sized dog that makes a loving, zealous and frolicsome pet that can steal the heart of the owner and its family. With a high level of intelligence and a desire to please the owner, this breed commonly takes part in agility and obedience trials." Check, check, and check!! I am a one year old male puppy weighing in at my fully growed adult weight of 38 pounds...the perfect size doggie that can go hiking all day and then curl up on the couch, leaving room for you to snuggle up next to me! I am a very friendly; happy and playful puppy; I share my joy for life with everyone that I meet!! My luxurious reddish fur is very soft and silky which makes petting me feel like petting a cloud!!!. I am great with miniature hoomans (AKA kids) and other dogs; not sure about cats, as we don't have any of those strange smelling critters around here. I am completely potty trained and crate trained and try to be a good dog and wait for my potty breaks. . And, did I mention that I like to play? :-) I would make a good dog for medium to difficult hiking trails, agility training, or long walks or runs in the dog park. Next to playing, cuddling is my favorite activity .... or giving chin kisses? I don't know, can I have three favorite activities? I will check with Foster Mom on that and get back with you ! I would do best with a family that has a yard and an active lifestyle. My Theme song is F-U-N by Spongebob :) I think that is self-explanatory :-)

Story
Gramps is the name you give a dog that has earned a few years in his life.   The affectionate name you award a loving soul that has a look about him of wisdom and road years on his soul.  This dog is like most older guys can be; lovable but grumpy and set in their ways.   This boy is a Golden Retriever that is about 12-13 years old, has some hearing loss and can’t see as good anymore either….but blind or deaf, but challenged to know when someone is coming up from behind him.  He has that old man extra weight and those wise and beautiful grey whiskers  on his face and muzzle.   Gramps has a welcoming smile but is shy at first with new people.  He is a lover and cuddler with those he knows, but don’t expect him to be the new best friend when first meeting new people.  He has to size you up first. He can be a little snippy about certain fast approaches or coming up from behind and him and not knowing you are there. He is great with other dogs, cats and he loves a good long car ride and does well on a leash.  He is just not Mr. Personality with new people.  He does warm in a few days and then is your friend for life.  If you want this old soul to help through his Golden Years please step forward and give him your heart and your front porch to sit and ponder life and the niceties of the twilight years.  He is healthy as a senior can be….bloodwork done, extensive vet visits and check ups and heartworm negative and neutered.   He is ready for a new start in his life and we know there is one out there for him.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

Story
Introducing Maggie. Maggie was rescued from Memphis Animal Services a long with her three puppies. We were told she had been running the streets of a neighborhood for some time. Maggie was the best momma and loved any attention anyone gave her or her babies, we were delighted to help them get out of the shaker. While Maggie’s pups have all been adopted she’s been completing heartworm treatment and is finally ready for her forever home. Maggie’s true love is fresh air and tennis balls. Her second love is getting attention and snuggles. She’s house trained and does not need to be crated. She’s got a pretty average energy level and as long as she gets to chase her ball she doesn’t require much else. She gets excited for leash walks but doesn’t really have confidence on a leash just yet so our hope is that her adopter will have a fenced back yard or be really willing to work with her on that. She adores children. She might be ok to live with another dog with proper introduction but certain dog personalities do make her nervous. Overall, she is a wonderful and easy pup who will make a family very happy. Our adoption application can be completed at www.wilsonanimalrescue.com/adopt
