Luna is a sweetheart with endless energy that will light up the room. She is always ready to play and loves a good chew bone. Her favorite indoor game is tug-of-war. When I'm busy working at the computer, Luna will oftentimes fall asleep by my feet. I love my Luna but I need to be truthful in that I cannot give her the attention she deserves, and it would be selfish to keep her when she would be happier in a home that can match her energy. To explain the Unknowns (Good with Dogs, Kids): Luna was raised with two other dogs (Golden Retrievers, male & female, non breeding) and got along wonderfully with them. Since I adopted her she hasn't had as much social time with other dogs, and when boarded at a facility that offered group-play, she was fearful of the group and the facility chose to keep her in solo-play only. My neighbor has both a young child and a large dog that Luna has met; Luna showed no aggression and was loving the new friends for her visit.

Due to COVID-19, the unknown surrounding it and, the request that we ALL nationally stay home – OLBH is suspending all adoptions, new fosters and any non-essential visitors to the rescue until which time it is deemed safe to resume normal practice.   Chip and Cherie were part of a litter of six that were confiscated by the county sheriff's office who asked OLBH to take them in, May of 2009. These two and their sister Lucy (Sanctuary Dog) are still here, Chip & Cherie have spent their entire lives together and need to be placed together. AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OR THRU OUR FOREVER FOSTER PROGRAM:  https://bitofheaven.org/forever-foster-program/ We require   that you have a fenced in yard, not a "kennel" in the yard AND we do not approve underground fencing. Depending upon the dog some exceptions are made for those who live in apartments.   We also require that the adoptee will be a part of the family "living" within the home. Online Adoption Application › Xena (Xena the warrior princess) is a beautiful golden mix.  She's a perfect medium size too (around 40-45 lbs).  Xena has worked very hard to overcome her past !  She now lnows how great affection from humans can be, she is no longer terrified of the leash and all her fur has grown back nicely !  She's also about to have her last round of injections to complete her heartworm treatment as well !  (Yay!)  Xena is fully crate trained and she is knows basic obedience commands too. She's also spayed, microchiped, up to date on shots and monthly preventatives !  Xena loves to play with our other dogs and is finally learning what toys are and how to play with them too! She is looking for a home that will be patient with her while she continues to learn!  While she will still need some time to adjust to a new routine we know she is going to a wonderful companion !!** A secure physical fence is required for Xena. **Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
