Story
Introducing Maggie. Maggie was rescued from Memphis Animal Services a long with her three puppies. We were told she had been running the streets of a neighborhood for some time. Maggie was the best momma and loved any attention anyone gave her or her babies, we were delighted to help them get out of the shaker. While Maggie’s pups have all been adopted she’s been completing heartworm treatment and is finally ready for her forever home. Maggie’s true love is fresh air and tennis balls. Her second love is getting attention and snuggles. She’s house trained and does not need to be crated. She’s got a pretty average energy level and as long as she gets to chase her ball she doesn’t require much else. She gets excited for leash walks but doesn’t really have confidence on a leash just yet so our hope is that her adopter will have a fenced back yard or be really willing to work with her on that. She adores children. She might be ok to live with another dog with proper introduction but certain dog personalities do make her nervous. Overall, she is a wonderful and easy pup who will make a family very happy. Our adoption application can be completed at www.wilsonanimalrescue.com/adop * Maggie’s adoption fee is $500 and includes her spayed, microchip, heartworm treatment, all annual vetting, and transport

Story
Introducing Waylon, a 5 ½ year old lovable retriever mix in search of his forever home - he's been waiting at the shelter for 1,116 days. Though initially cautious around new faces, Waylon thrives in a stable environment with regular exercise. With guidance, he's able to build trust and would be the ultimate companion. He enjoys leisurely walks, splashing in kiddie pools, and soaking up the sun. He's adept in basic commands, house-trained, and relishes car rides. While he prefers older children and a dog-savvy household, he's not fond of cats. Waylon may be selective with canine friends but is known to be friendly with proper introductions. Neutered, vaccinated, and in good health, he only requires a supplement for slight joint stiffness. If you're ready to open your heart, Waylon is eagerly waiting to bring joy to your home. You can also watch for stories, pictures, and videos about him on JR's Pups-N-Stuff's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet me today!!Adoption fee: $400All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. Story
Penny is a very special girl looking for a very special, caring and compassionate family of her own. Penny is a wonderful Shepherd – Golden Retriever Mix, 5 years old, who found herself surrendered to an area humane society because her family could no longer care for her. When she was surrendered, she was thought to be unsocialized and it was not known how she would do with other dogs, or cats...or even people she did not know Sure she was scared, finding herself in a strange place, left by the only people she had known. However slowly but surely she has been coming around but it is a process requiring patience and understanding. She is friendly, gentle, curious, and appears ok with other dogs, with slow introduction and when she feels comfortable. She has ignored the cats she’s been introduced to. We believe that Penny needs to build her confidence, and needs to learn to trust people. Penny has been diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament, requiring TPLO surgery for repair. She may also have a touch of arthritis. Generally speaking Penny gets around fine but she has a bit of a limp and we want to address the problem before it becomes worse. We consider Penny a “special needs” girl because she requires a family who will take her through surgery for repair of her torn cruciate and nurse her back to health. We expect that Penny will become very attached to this person/family and, rather than place Penny in a foster home where she establishes such a bond during this time, we prefer that her forever family step in and do so. The ideal family for Penny is an adult home (older children are fine), with someone home most of the time. An adult who works out of the home, or a stay-at-home parent would be ideal. Penny has a mild case of separation anxiety which we expect to further diminish as she becomes more confident and learns that she does not have to fear abandonment. Addressing her needs for confidence and trust are the priority vs the TPLO surgery. Once Penny is able to trust people, allow people to care for her, and feels more relaxed, the surgery will be addressed....perhaps a month or so down the road. Note that BAARK will cover all costs related to the surgery /recovery. Other than the torn cruciate (not an uncommon injury in large, active dogs), Penny is in overall excellent health…and after a successful repair, she will be as good as new! She is fully vetted, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and taking monthly heartworm preventative, is spayed, microchipped, and housebroken, If you are able to provide Penny a compassionate, loving home and family of her own, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Penny is a loving, very affectionate girl who deserves a family of her own, who can make her a priority!
