Story
Hey, hey, ladies and gents! I'm Buddy! They call me Fuzzy Buddy here since they've had a lot of other Buddys, but I dare say it was my name first! I've had it my whole life! I'm 8 years old and 64 pounds, and I like to think of myself as a great kind of guy, maybe a little derpy, but hey, I think it adds to my charm! I love people the most, and although I'm a bigger boy, I LOVE cuddling and snuggling and being a lap dog! Everyone always wants a doodle, but here are some things you need to know to make sure you are the perfect home for me: **I don't see well out of my right eye, and if you surprise me on that side it scares me! **I have been adopted and returned TWICE! I swear I'm a good boy, but it takes me a week or so to relax and feel safe, sometimes longer, and if I get scared I try REALLY hard to tell you, but if I'm really startled or you don't listen to me I may snap at you! I don't have words, so I gotta use what I got. I promise I'm not trying to be mean at all! In fact, my foster mom and dad are very confident, experienced, and know how to make me feel safe, and I have NEVER felt like I had to defend myself. Ever! **I need a home with humans that will work to understand me and help me feel secure. Oh! Little kids kinda scare me. I have PERFECT house manners, and you won't ever need to crate me when you go away. I get along with all dogs, and I currently live with 6 others, big AND small, and never have any problems! I like to have buddies to "show me the ropes." PLEASE CONSIDER MY SPECIAL NEEDS BEFORE APPLYING. I want a FOREVER home! Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Hummus was found by MADACC, extremely matted over his entire body. The matting was so extreme, they had to shave his entire body virtually down to the skin. But we know once his hair grows in he's going to be an adorable doodle! Hummus is a tall guy with some very long legs, and understandably nervous given all the changes he's experienced over the last few weeks. He would do best in a home that is understanding and patient, willing to put in the work to help him build confidence and come out of his shell. Hummus is a really sweet guy, and we're just hoping his family is right around the corner! All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and have received routine deworming.
