Morgan is a roughly 2 year old Great Dane mix who came to SSHS from another shelter. She is super sweet with people and really enjoys spending time outside either on walks or in the play yard here. She is a strong gal, but doesn't pull too much while going for walks! She hasn't had the best dog meet and greets while here, so a home without another dog would probably be best for her. Morgan is very sweet-natured and of course, absolutely gorgeous.Morgan is big gal, weighing in at about 70 lbs and could still gain some weight, as she came in to the other shelter very skinny. Violet came to us a very emaciated Great Dane puppy. She weighed the same as she did when she was 4 months old and she is now 15 months old Violet is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, dewormed and on heartworm preventative Violet has come a long way with us. Violet was 50 pounds when she entered GPPR (which is 4 less pounds from her 4 month old vet visit). Violet is now 90.8 POUNDS!!!! You read that correctly. She has gained 40 pounds since 01/25/20! She is now spayed and ready for a new family. Violet still needs some training. She gets a little excited to see you and will jump up. We are working on off but she just can’t contain the excitement for you to pay attention and pet her. She truly is a nice dog that loves everyone. She has gotten along with all the dogs she has met. Bright came to CCR after his owners were unable to care for him anymore. He's a 6 1/2 year old Great Dane/pittie mix who tips the scales at 83 pounds. Despite his beefiness, Bright thinks he's a lap dog! He loves to snuggle and cuddle, and nothing makes him happier than some love time. Bright is your typical elephant-who-sees-a-mouse scaredy cat - he can be worried going for walks in new environments or when he hears big new sounds! When Bright gets worried, he pancakes on the ground and needs you to reassure him. Bright will do best in a routine-oriented, quieter home with a fenced yard. And my tail never stops wagging when I have two- and four-legged companions to love! My foster momma jokingly calls my tail its own power source, so I might accidentally knock very tiny children or potted plants over when I am especially happy, but otherwise I have excellent household manners and am never purposefully destructive. I am already potty and crate trained, though my foster momma says she doesn't need to crate me when she leaves the house because I enjoy lounging in my bed or on the couch until she returns (this life of luxury thing is amazing!) My dream home will include a big family and another dog or two, a fenced yard so I can play with my pals and lounge in the sun. I am pretty low energy overall and do not need a lot of exercise, so an occasional walk would be fine but I am not going to be your marathon training buddy haha! I could use some extra work on my leash walking skills; I was likely previously chained up in my prior life so I am extra alert of my surroundings on walks and can be protective of the other dog in my foster home when we are strolling the neighborhood. Fetching Tails requires adopters of young dogs like me to sign us up for training classes, and I am a quick learner (especially when treats are involved - I am very food motivated!) so I think we will have a great time learning new skills together and seeing how great a family pet I can be!
