Agnes' favorite hobby is to sleep or lay outside. She does play with a toy once in a while that only lasts a few seconds. She is the perfect "I want a dog just to have in the house" kind of dog. Most of the time you forget she is here. She loves to be petted! Her allergy test results have returned and the doctor joked she needs to live in the desert. There is a lot of stuff here in the midwest she is allergic to. She has started a new diet to accommodate her needs. She has also started allergy shots. Agnes can be described as the sweetest little gramma dog. She would make a perfect companion to any home as she gets along with everyone! Age: 4 years Weight: 103 pounds Special Needs: Partially deaf in right ear due to fatty tumour, daily medications. Also a food allergy. Leash Trained: Yes. Story
Wrangler is a gentle senior soul, a Great Pyrenees/Brittany Spaniel/German Shepherd/Min Pin mix (his fosters had his DNA tested!), who loves walks, exploring new places, puppacinos, being near his humans, and naps! This smart guy waits patiently for his leash to be attached and even has his own repertoire of barks for different situations!  Ex: One “boof” while looking at his foster momma means he’s ready for bed. A perfect home for this sweet boy, would be one where he could be the single king of the castle! He is a smart and sensitive boy who loves every human he has met - even kids! We know there is a special family out there for Wrangler. Is it you? The adoption donation for Wrangler is $100.  This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.   Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet     Wrangler, please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team members.

Story
FAST FACTS:*3 Years Old, 45 Pounds*Sweet, Loving, Playful, Gentle*Medium Energy*People Friendly (older kids best)*Dog Friendly*Cat Friendly*Potty Training *Crate Trained*Training RequiredBIO:Greetings from Rowena. I came from a horrendous puppy mill; a total of 60 dogs were found in the facility and saved by Animal Rescue Corps. All of us were kept chained, given only enough food and water to survive, and barely had contact with humans. I'm now living in an FTF foster home, savoring my freedom, and dreaming of my forever home. I know that taking a chance on a pup who, up until now, has only experienced cruelty is a big ask. But as the volunteers here quickly realized, my previous abusive environment has not defined me. I'm making friends with everyone I encounter - 2-legged and 4-legged alike. And I know that with your love and understanding, I'll soon be able to put my past behind me and become the wonderful canine companion I was always meant to be.A few facts about me. I've discovered the joys of hanging out with other dogs. So if there's another canine in your household to be my buddy and mentor, that would be terrific. I also enjoy having my own patch of grass to explore, so my ideal home will include a fenced yard. As you can see from my photo, I'm on the thin side and need to gain some weight. That won't be hard though, because the first time I was given a treat, my mouth exploded in happiness, and I couldn't wait for another. My food motivation not only will help me fill out but will also make training me easy peasy. Fetching Tails requires adopters of young dogs like me to sign us up for training classes, and I really think the class setting will help me gain more confidence and build our bond together. Speaking of training, I am mostly potty trained; I sometimes need to be reminded it is time to go outside to do my business, but I can hold it for long lengths of time now and overnight. And I'm happy to report that I go in my crate without fuss and quietly settle in, I consider it my safe space and often go in on my own without coaxing.I am a girl with a lot of love to give the special, patient humans who give me a chance to keep blossoming and learning what it really means to be a beloved companion. If that sounds like you, I hope you fill out an adoption application soon!Love and licks,RowenaIf you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.

Story
Libra is a beautiful female Great Pyrenees looking for a foster or forever home. She looks all Great Pyrenees but it's possible she could be mixed with something else. She is all fluff and needs to put on a little weight. She was recently groomed and looks just gorgeous! She is a snuggle bug who loves being with her people but is also content to snooze during the day. Libra is house broken, has been able to be in our spare room just snoozing during the work days for 4-5 hours and then goes on walks with our dog walker. She walks super well on a leash with a few minor corrections when she sees critters. In true Pyrenese' fashion, she loves to patrol the perimeter of the yard and do great big warning barks if she sees dogs. She is super playful and likes other dogs. We call her our "alligator" because she does chomp everything in sight (nicely and just to put it in her mouth- not to chew!) as her way of playing. She listens when told no and loves to play tug. She already knows sit, down, and "wait" for her dinner. She's working on "leave it" and not jumping when she's excited. She's very treat motivated and loves a good couch or bed to snuggle on. A family who is active, loves to take long walks or has a great big yard, and kids ages 5+ would be great for her!Personality-wise, Libra is sweet-natured and friendly with people of all ages, including kids. She's also great with other dogs. Libra walks nicely on leash and is treat-motivated. She would love to meet you and become your foster or forever dog. Please fill out an application so you can meet her and see if she's the pup for you.Adoption fee is $320Email: dogs@almosthomefoundation.orgAlmost Home Foundation's adoption requirements:(1) Be at least 21 years of age;(2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household;(3) Have approval from the residence owner;(4) Have valid ID with current address;(5) Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home; and`(6) Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg (Illinois Residents only)*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash or checks for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***
